I will be revamping my girlfriend's website soon and was wondering what to NOT include. What are some things that you don't care for on a provider's website?
I know for me that pop ups are a HUGE annoyance. Sound automatically turning on is also a bother.
Yes music that starts out of nowhere is horrible, and tacky pop up adverts ![]()
Just my 2 cents. Like others...music is a huge no-no. In a business that relies on discretion, nothing can be further from it than blaring music when opening a webpage.
God awful pop-ups. I don't mind the template solution to building a web-page, but the one with the pop-up just seems cheap to me.
Mis-spellings (I better check this post as well!).
A blog without any entries. A blog is an incredibly useful tool. It allows the provider to create an image that seems to delve deeper into her personality. It allows an image to be created but still controlled by the provider. For the hobbiest, it can supplement whatever fantasy has been created. After all, this is a fantasy business.
Along the same vein...calendars. What's the use if no one updates them. If you have them, make sure they're updated otherwise it makes the lady look unorganized. It might be better if there is no calendar at all.
And finally, this is a business. Please make sure the rates are easily found. I would imagine it really lessens tedious emails to the provider. And of course, make sure they are accurate. I don't know how many times the website says one thing and the rates turn out to be different. I don't mean upselling, but rather stated rates are $300, but another website or ad states $350. Consistency will help alleviate any uncomfortable surprise.
Just my 2 cents
Too much crap that utilizes Flash, and automatic video. All the junk that eats up bandwidth and slows down connectivity.
A short intro about yourself......no music or pop ups.......donation page.........photo gallery......NO MUSIC......contact page, short and to the point.....even a wish list page if wanted.......and finally NO MUSIC or POP UPS.......................hope that helps, the simpler the better........
When rates say "contact me"... Just say what the rates are, then I will decide whether or not to make contact.
When there is a big disclaimer on the home page that nobody ever reads and then and "enter" and "exit" button. These buttons have never kept out any underage kids, and if they are in fact underage, they can't consent to contracts like that anyhow. So there is no point in having them. I think what would work better is to have a home page that doesn't have an explicit picture, but you get the idea of what the site is, and have all the navigation buttons available from that screen.
When galleries are not arranged in a tile format, and instead there is some kind of navigation with arrows that moves from one picture to the next. I find those a bit annoying. Especially when each picture is a different size, and so the arrows don't stay in a consistent place. I really think tile format is the best, that way you can just pick one picture and click on it to enlarge that one only.
When pictures are not a true representation of the provider. When they are old, or misleading, or when every picture on the site is a glamor shot. I prefer more candid looking photos, because they really are a more accurate representation of the provider. What is nice is when pictures say things like "taken in July 2013" or something like that. Otherwise, you are wondering if the pictures are really from 10 years ago. On the home page, put a general face pic or something, don't make the person go to the gallery to find out what your general age/race/whatever is.
When the "about me" or whatever page is a novel and takes more than a minute or so to read. Too much information. I think a few short statements is all that is needed.
When the "contact me" page is a web form that asks you a million questions, and then after you fill all that out, there is some code that you need to enter at the bottom that you can't even read, and it takes 4 tries to get it right because you don't know whether something is a number 6, or a lower case B, and you don't know if something is a number 9 or a lower case G, and they are transposed on top of each other to add an additional level of annoyance.
In the "contact me" page I realize that a lot of providers don't put their phone numbers there, but at least say what city you work out of. I see a lot of sites where you have no clue what city the provider is even talking about. She did such a good job putting up her pictures and everything else, that she forgot to say that she lives in Montreal or something. Now that is annoying.
Only post calendars they are actually being updated with info. Otherwise they serve no purpose. It is not annoying if they are not updated, but this is just a suggestion.
When there is a page dedicated to rules. We all understand that there are rules, but for ease of reference, just have the page be more like this:
Does: HJ, CBJ, Dirty Talk, Role Playing... etc
Does not do: Anal, CIM, Bondage, BareBack,... etc
Just find every term there is like that and put it into two columns or something. That is the easiest way to read the rules. I find that some providers are doing things this way these days, and it makes everything so much easier to comprehend. Not doing this wouldn't be an annoyance, this is just a suggestion.
When an escort says that this is not an offer of prostitution and all donations are for her time only. I really don't think that even needs to be said, it doesn't stand up as a viable defense in court anyway. Well this one doesn't annoy me, but I don't think it is necessary to say that, so I will just throw it out there.
This doesn't annoy me, but there have been a million complaints from our African American friends about this one issue... if you don't see African Americans (or whites or asians or whatever), just put that info on the site. If I have to read yet another thread here from one of our African American friends who is complaining about this not being disclosed and how they are angry that they wasted so much time as a result, I am going to get a gun and shoot my computer.
Well, that's all I can think of. I hope these suggestions are helpful
Consider removing the statement that she does the web site by herself, and that she does not have an assistant.
I looked at the calender--I clicked on the "special" and didn't find a special rate, just an indication of doubles?

I wasn't asking about my site. And the special doubles rate is listed in three different places on my site.

Aaaaaaaah! Dawn rises over marble head!
I read the post as someone other than you inquiring about changing your web site?
some of the silly things I see on sites are summative claims. They demonstrate a lack of focus on the people they try to reach, and underscore a "self" focus.
Common ones are gorgeous, beautiful, "freaky", etc. While one may consider themselves to be those, ultimately it's the person who looks at a pix, or spends time with them that comes to those conclusions.
Statements such as "I'll treat you like a king." are frivolous unless supported by what the king like treatments are.
My favorite example of an unfounded statement is "I give other world pleasures because I'm from Venus." Strikingly puzzling?! Of Course! But so is "...vivacious.......who loves to have some FUN." How can one discern if the latter is based in fiction or truth?
“I am a down to earth, no nonsense....girl with a wicked sense of humor, …..genuinely fun, genuinely able to hold my own...(in)...intelligence and sophistication...., but equally someone you will be instantly able to relax with.”
Countless times I see a very nice picture but at the same time a description of the person in the picture—white, blond hair, blue eyes, fit etc, which all accurately describe the person in the picture. But, what is the additive value of the descriptors?
Best Wishes

I appreciate the feedback from everyone. I shall take your comments and suggestions into consideration.
I'll echo pretty much what has been said about auto-play music and videos. Requiring flash at all is a no for me. I don't have it installed in my main browser and if I have to go hunting for it I'm going to move on.
Same thing with "contact me" when listing rates. I don't want to waste either of our time if you're not in my range. It also makes it hard to not break the "no discussing money" rule for not directly soliciting.
The other thing that bugs me is when there's no indication at all of where you're located. And I mean major city, not your actual location or even Tempe vs Scottsdale. I've gone to plenty of girls' site that I've seen on twitter or a message board and have had no clue where they are. If she's in someplace like New York I'm not going to contact her for right away, but I might mark her down as someone to look into when I'm traveling in that area.
is a good example of what not to do.

A rate structure would be nice.
Apart from that, I totally love your photos. Very intriguing!
Having just said that, I can see how given some of the things going on this weekend, you would minimize information
Because of the things that have been going on for a while, I am not even looking for new clients.
Sedonaw I understand where you are coming from, but hopefully you would change your mind in the future!!!!
I wish she'd change her mind as well! I'd love to meet SW too... alas no response to my initial contact ![]()
