I have talked tosome oftheothergirls and no one has heardfrom them, so there are alot of unanswered questions at this point.

Made the local fishwrap (link below).

George Carlin said it best " Selling is legal...fucking is legal...  why isn't selling fucking legal?". Money laundering, conspiracy to commit whatever, is the trouble you'll get into, I suppose.

From the local news in Albuquerque (click link), regarding the DD NM arm of DD/AZ C.  Big sting apparently coordinated by "Sheriff Joe" in Maricopa County.

Just heard this on the radio and they were saying 50 more arrested and now they're going to be going after the *johns*

The 411 that Paul was under federal scrutiny was widely known well over a year ago. I've only met Paul and Scott a few times but they certainly seemed like nice enough guys...

The charges filed are RICO charges and are federal in scope not local. This type of operation grinds slowly and the real question isn't who's going into hiding now...but who should have gone into hiding a year or more ago.

Anyone with close ties to those involved ought to be walking on eggshells for a few months or longer. I'd say it'll take a good 90 days for the grand jury subpoena's to hit.

I know this is difficult to ask, but when stuff like this goes down everyone is exposed.

When Paul was over here for one of their M & G's, he claimed they had a very sophisticated computer system and that client confidentiality was of the utmost concern.  Looks like substantial collateral damage pending.  Obviously I don't know what triggered this investigation, but when you live such a lavish lifestyle, it sorta tends to get attention.

I never keep books or phone numbers. You're lucky if I remember your name! I don't ask you what you do for a living. It's none of my business unless I need that information for screening. I never forget a face or the essence of your being, though!

So they are talking of prosecuting the Johns. How true is that. How will they prove the Johns committed any crime? Does having your name on a ledger mean anything? Can anyone shed some light on this?

I wish I could reassure everyone  about DD/AZC practices and that we were all safe, but the real truth is that there was alot of personal info freely given out to the agency as well as the girls and anyone who ever used a credit card knows this.  I would say that the responsibility lies with everyone as far as a paper trail.
I want to meet the girl who makes fifteen thousand dollars a night in tips.  WHATEVER!  Exaggerate much? Dont believe everything you hear and only half of what you see.

So, will work for food????

and its potentially a very complicated subject. The bottom line is that certain hobbiests happen to fall well within the boundry that could (and thats a big "could") trigger RICO related charges.

For those relative few I'd say that its a possibility...unlikely but certainly possible. Beyond that alot would depend on both the paper trail and potentially the email trail. While the current investigation is very much IRS driven (think the same folks who got Barry) I'm sure that the local DA and Sheriff Joe will get access to all the seized records. In that regard this has everything that Joe loves, the saving grace being that he's put headlines ahead of protocal/procedure so in the end guys might get off that way.

But I'd say if you were tight with Paul & crew your probably going to get somne scrutiny if the seized records document a connection.

As a former cop, and current attorney, let me make one suggestion (not advice)... if you are one of the unfortunate ones to get a knock on the door from LE, keep these words in mind and close to your tongue:

"I do not want to answer any of your questions." and "I want to speak with my attorney." The interview will be over real quick at this point but make sure you keep your mouth SHUT!!!

I don't know why you brought Sheriff Joe into this- it says they helped but everything they are saying it this is Phoenix PDs case....

Anyway- I agree with don't believe everything you hear.  Cops can and will lie.  Its a ploy they use all the time to scare people into telling the truth.  They will also release false or misleading press to obtain a desired result.  Now can they put the screws to the owners to break the computer code- well I guess that depends on how much they sweeten the deal. Can the feds break it? My guess like most government agencies- its all about the money.  The more money they can get out of you, the more they want you.

Funny- I got out of this hobby several years ago for many reasons- one of which- I just had this feeling we were overdue for something like this.  Maybe just the law of averages I guess.  On the downside- I sure miss some of these hotties.  Its really too bad that we can't get past the legal issues of this.  Yes there are safe ways to play this game- and many of these women are sure worth it.  Just be careful out there and I am sure you can safely enjoy this hobbie.

Agreed with both...

To be sure if you ever used a credit card with the agency and were frequent about it, chances are there might be an interesting phone call.  Without that or the girl actually saying I did X Y and Z for money, most are relatively safe.  Also, it seems most of these are federal charges and for SURE the IRS is the one spearheading this deal.  So to be safe, always use cash and dont give out large amounts of personal information.  Hobby safe.

Txtoast, I tend to agree—sort of.

Like you, I’ve only had contact with Paul a few times. More than once, he actually asked me to have lunch. Of course, the Sheika graciously refused.

For some reason or other, Paul seemed intrigued or even fascinated by the harsh reality of the business as it was portrayed in my posts.

I wouldn’t say the man was charming, but he did have a certain persuasive demeanor that was undoubtedly effective with many of the ladies who worked for him…

Paul--and some others--knew that the Sheika knew the truth.

But, darling newbie, Txtoast, did you see the arsenal that was recovered from his residence? Did you see the silencers? Now, anyone who is not overly concerned with THAT fact is not grounded in reality. And, sweetheart, Txtoast have you seen the charges of money laundering and drug related offenses?

There is a definite evil in the escort trade. We have ample evidence of it here. This evil transcends the reviews and the meaningfulness of the 8’s, 9’s and 10’s and it needs to be addressed.

Inshallah
