I am not from here.....My business keeps me in Mexico and South America for most of the year. I only make it up every couple of months. It's a valid question

As SOMEONE's advocate, maybe you can help me understand.Who exactly is "the community" you're refering to?
Is it everyone involved in the hobby? Just those who hobby and are online? Or are you implying that it is only those involved who meet up to a certain standard?
What specific standards must one live up to to be a good member? Where are those standards written? Who wrote them?
More importantly, who is the high priest(s) (or priestess(es)!) who makes the determination regarding what is or isn't a good contributing member?
Is that you? Are there others? Who are they?
I know one thing, it certainly is above me to make that judgement.
In my opinion (which is all this is), people who think that way are actually detrimental to the whatever the so-called community is! Their approach and thinking is like a cult.
There is no one exact way to think on this subject.
Tolerance and acceptance of individual's choices, Being safe, and Doing no harm... are the only only universal guiding wisdom, as I see it.

Having been a lurker on the boards for the past several years, the thought-process I've described is something I've frequently noticed in this forum. The ones who post that tripe ususally phrase it a little more bluntly than I had (and don't make me go get examples ), but thankfully, I haven't seen too many posters recently that think that way. I hope most of them, if not all, have been driven away by the gradual attitude change here.
