I, too, was a cheerleader but I could also be found out in the smoking grounds doing what most teens did in the 70s -- excuse me, cough, cough. I was a jock, the class clown, a tomboy, shy with boys (go figure). I guess there isn't a category for some of us. Does that make us special? Maybe, or just strange. :)

Hugs,

The front-page poll on TER as of tonight, revealed the following results on the question of "Back in high school, what clique were you in?"

26% Jock
27% Nerd
0% Bully
19% Dork
25% Cool

(I was actually offended at the implication that being a nerd wasn't cool, but I digress.)

Those of you who know The Gallop Pole personally, and know how cool, sophisticated and popular he is today, may be surprised to learn that in high school he wasn't just a nerd, he was SuperNerd.  Drum Major of the band, President of the Bible Club, and a founding member of both the Star Trek and Joe Dougherty/Dewey Hopper fan clubs.  (They were local TV weathermen.)

The Gallop Pole wants to know who else was a band nerd, computer geek, or whatever.  Shine a little light on your background.  Don't just tell us which group you were a part of...give us some details!

I would speculate that nothing has changed about you since high school except that you are now not just President of the Sweet Sarah fan club, but a member.

Where is the Stoner category?

I would be in the "nerd"section.I was an ugly duckling and couldn't get any guy's attention!!I had big blue glasses, and farrah hair. And I was a goody two shoes who always went to church!WOW--I sure look different!! No more ugly duckling(boy would my old classmates be surprised at who and what I am today!!)

Sweet Ciara, you are in a class of your own.

Me I'm just GOOFY.

Thank you

Band nerd etc... but a drummer that played for the cheerleaders early in the AM. Great time. Music kept me in school!

hey for what its worth i was just one of the boys still stay in contact with the girls.

Mr Pole, I thought you were a righteous dude when I met you at a TER meet-and-greet!

As for my 'nerd' credentials..Chess Club President, Student Band Conductor, Chorus, Drama, Knew every Monty Python line by heart, and was programming the school computer years before Gates or Jobs/Wojzniac were starting their little business ventures. Yup, I fly my nerd flag high :)
