I don't have any input on a place to stay, and there are literally a hundred beautiful hikes in or near Sedona.

That being said, everyone should climb Cathedral Rock once in their life.  Don't go if you are not healthy, but if you are, it is magnificent.

Hello ladies and gents..

I am wanting to surprise my sweetie with a special night in sedona. I am looking for maybe a B&B with a great view, or water next to it, maybe a large hot tub in the room etc..Something special.

Also does anyone know a place in sedona for a great hike ? September.

I personally like the cottages at  l'auberge sedona.  You can book a cottage over looking the creek. I recommend garden, creek or spa cottages. Ask for one with outdoor shower! You can also enjoy a great breakfast out on your patio or at the restaurant on the creek. It's little hot for it now but the garden and creek cottages also have a working wood burning fireplace. I recently had some fun with Cameron at L'auberge. It was a night to remember.

Here is a link to my favorite place to stay (and room) in Sedona.  The people who run the B&B are really nice, the breakfasts are amazing and it is just a great place to getaway to (no hot tub in the room though).  Hope you enjoy yourself in Sedona.

Forest Houses Resort is situated on 20 wooded acres in upper Oak Creek Canyon. The resort is separated from the highway by trees and Oak Creek – a clear, cool continuously running mountain stream stocked with Rainbow and Brown trout and supporting an abundance of birds and wildlife.

This place you will not have cell service. You are totally one on one with nature. So if truly want to get away from city and not be at a regular resort then you will love this little known secret just north of Sedona. It is family owned and operated. And rates are very reasonable. No hot tubs but great place to be one with nature and get away from it all.

if you go here..they have a few (3 i think) that have their own private pools....very nice pools and they are heated...right up next to one of the vortices..

these suite do not show up on the website or are not mentioned anywhere..you have to know they are there and you have to ask for them!!

absolutely spectacular.!!

Forest Houses are awesome - a lot more secluded, maybe a tad more rustic... beautiful, great value. Not a resort but super private, been going there for years. Hard to get into though, they book way in advance all year.

You might also consider Junipine Resort... right next door to Forest Houses... a little more resort like...

and you MUST eat at Elote - best upscale gourmet Mex food and high end margaritas in the state.
