Commodity
1. Something useful that can be turned to commercial or other advantage: “Left-handed, power-hitting third basemen are a rare commodity in the big leagues” (Steve Guiremand).
2. An article of trade or commerce, especially an agricultural or mining product that can be processed and resold.
3. Advantage; benefit.
4. Obsolete.| A quantity of goods.
Considering that time and services are rendered, and funds exchanged for said time and services; that would make the time and services provided a Commodity.
Providers also range widely in appearance and quality of services and time provided. Some providers look like they just walked off the cover of a magazine while others look like the old lady in the Wendy’s ‘where’s the beef commercials’. Likewise some providers provide time and services that make you feel like your in heaven, while others make you say to yourself ‘well that was a quick $500 gone’.
Most of us hobbyists also do not seek these women out because they are unobtainable. Many of us are successful in our carriers, have families, are physically fit, and easily able to attract the opposite sex. We are far from being lonely trolls who can’t get a date. The reality is that many of us are tenacious and driven to succeed. The rate of compensation for an hour of quality company usually exceeds a days wages for the ‘average Joe’; so if this is actually a true hobby for you, you have to be better off then the ‘average Joe’. With success you feel that you should likewise be able to partake in the finer things in life; after all you earned it right.
It is also natural for a man to want the company of women; it’s simply a natural drive. It’s the same drive that gives us our success in life. In the rest of the world this is an accepted fact of life. In Europe for example the practice of successful men keeping a mistress or a few mistresses is an accepted and common practice. Many times the wife is even friends with the mistress. Most of the men who keep mistresses likewise are happily married, and the mistress has no delusion that he will leave his wife for her. Thought much of the world it has been an accepted practice for men to have multiple wives, concubines, or courtesans; each understanding their relationship and not expecting exclusivity.
In this county however maintaining a mistress is not a condoned practice. Most of the time the mistress expects the man to leave his wife. Here, there is an expectation that if you keep a mistress; not all is well at home.
This is exactly why we seek out the services of these ladies. These ladies have no aspirations of becoming the next ‘Miss Right’. They know that we are both in each others company to enjoy the moment.
In my own case I am 36, fit, and well off. I am married to a beautiful woman of 26 and have three children and a forth on the way. I have no complaints about my marriage or my sex life with my wife. However I do want the company of a mistress without the associated baggage. I could easily go out find an affair, but then I would be stuck with all the unwanted crap that comes with it.
Maybe I am not a ‘fairly average’ man. However I suspect that most of my fellow hobbyists are not as well.
I also have been ripped off, as many of us have. I likewise consider a provider who looks nothing like her photo to be a rip off. Do I blame the provider for this? Yes. If I ordered a filet minion at a restaurant and was brought a hamburger or even a New York steak instead, I would send it back. I likewise would be even more upset if I was given a bill for my steak but only given bread or nothing at all.
True, The philosophy in a 5-star restaurant is that if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it. However the restaurant is rated as being a 5-star. You have a very good idea of what to expect because of the rating. Likewise there are 4-star restaurants, 3-star restaurants, etc.
I think the chef at St. Regis Hotel in New York would be more than insulted at the idea that his work should not be dissected, criticized and ranked. There are only 17 5-star restaurants in New York. And for good reason, not all restaurants are equal. And neither are all providers. To say that all providers who are not rip off artists are equally good is like saying that the St. Regis is just as good as Mc Donald’s because they both deliver services as promised.
If I was a top notch provider who spent all the time and effort of keeping myself fit, and drop dead gorgeous. As well as providing services that rivaled the experience of walking through the gates of heaven. I would be insulted at the idea of not being recognized for my exemplary efforts, and being lumped with the masses that may not go to that Herculean diligence.
Granted, a top 10 list of providers would just be plain silly. Ones personal taste is too subjective. However a general ranking isn’t bad, similar to the star system used in hotels and restaurants. A system that discerns quality while allowing the client his own subjective tastes. And that is what this board accomplishes. Each client who posts a review or a message here acts in essence like a food critic. Each with his own tastes and preferences. There are even bad food critics and bad reviewers. But they allow us to have a general idea of who provides quality services and to make our own mind with an educated perspective while keeping our personal tastes. Your favorite provider may not be my type. The type of provider I prefer is not everyone’s cup of tea. I myself have been looking for over a year for a provider similar to my tastes to be able to make a frequent indulgence.
