Hello
Since yesterday 2 of my close escort friends were arrested one in Phx and one in Scottsdale at their home/incall... reason cited was advertsing without and escort license and they were approched via apt with text and then raided with muliple cops and given a citation. What happens with thse kinds of tickets?
Does any ladies on here have an escort license or one to advertise and if so , it is wise to get one and where do you get one? Both women were found through bp.
Any input on this would be helpful.
thanks

I think the major problem here is the Backpage ads. How many top providers in the greater Phoenix area, say the top 20 still "advertise" on B/P? I know "have to start somewhere" but if you can avoid B/P and just try to "upgrade" a little to like P411 or Date Check. Just my thoughts

Yes busts for escorting without a license is common in Phoenix and Scottsdale or for solicitation if ads have GFE, BJ etc in them.  They were lucky since often will bust for prostitution then reduce to escorting without a license to avoid the mandatory first offense 15 days in jail.  Escort without fine and costs a bit over $500 as I recall.

If two girls work together its a criminal enterprise felony charge.

I wrote extensively you know where about the escort license law which is basically impossible to follow with the requirements (ID of customers, open door, hours, logs etc and of course nothing sexual allowed)

Phoenix PD monitors the major sites... The County Attorney issued a grand jury Subpoena Dues Tecum  on BP in the latest big Phoenix case and they replied with 850 pages of ad info, source. how paid etc.

The war on in private consenting adults is very active in Phoenix as it has been for a number of years.  Big trial date 8/24 for the latest 39 busted with swat team military like assault by Phoenix PD.

Verification is almost as useless as asking if a cop.

Phoenix and Scottsdale PD are not like Sheriff Joe's guys of old. ,Sadly they are very good at false verification unless you check by physical description with a companion they have previously seen and they remember by your description.

There are ways of protecting self to not cross the line that is far more important than verification after the undercover is with you.  As I reported in recent case one gal did outstanding job of not offering sex for money no matter how hard the undercover tried, even laying in bed with her. He kept shorts on and had sheet up to his neck (details in police report). Finally gave up and signaled to the bust team signaled no deal vs storm in.

In recent case police asked specifically in Grand Jury proceeding whether they had any sexual contact - those cases don't get prosecuted but undercovers well trained in getting deal without getting any "fun".

Jail Time Scottsdale for no Escort License reported

Previous reports indicated a “ticket” or plea deal for escorting without a license at least in Phoenix and some other cities were just the about $1500 fine. But have a report from a Scottsdale escort that she was
given 2 days in jail and pay over $1200 in fines including a $300 public defenders fee.

At least I have hard Scottsdale jail is much nicer than Phoenix and at least not the 15 day minimum in all of Arizona for 1st offense prostitution including solicitation sentence.

In researching it seems Scottsdale licensing does not have the massive silliness of Phoenix which would be almost impossible for a individual to comply with. Assuming this is the latest Scottsdale might be able to
be applied for without the Phoenix restrictions previously discussed in great detail - http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/assets/Public+Website/licensing/EscortandEscortBureaus.pdf

The application is at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/assets/Public+Website/licensing/FS05069.pdf

I disagree with Dave. I think screening (mainly provider references) is what has kept me safe for over 7 years. The police are generally looking for "low hanging fruit", those who are easy targets.

If you have an ad on BP and a gent calls up and all you say is "come on over", there is absolutely no protection in that method against LE or Psychos. If you have spoken with the last person they saw, chances are pretty good they are still alive and not in jail. The idea is to stay away from people who may hurt you.

If your neighbor has turned you in because you have a trail of men lined up outside your apartment, chances are the cops are going to hassle you. In which case, Dave's method might stand a chance.

Payton, I'm sorry your friends had to go through this. Its a humiliating experience. In my early 20's, I got hassled...kind of like getting a DUI though, I learned my lesson and found a better way to operate. So far, so good...

Good luck to the ladies involved!

The main problem with verification is that it is not done correctly.

PD will give legitimate companion references.  They will give phones and employers that will verify.

Verification is worthless for advanced tricks learned by PD (probably at national how to entrap a hooker school) unless companion 1 has a physical description of client, contacts companion 2 referenced, shares the physical description and companion 2 remembers the client, what he looks like and verifies the physical description of the client.

Otherwise there is no assurance the client isn't a cop.  Then your fall back in the ways to avoid breaking the law once you are with the undercover.

Sadly all the major Phoenix boards are monitored as are the ads which wind up in police evidence books.

Ads used to intimidate to get pleas but very hard to actually get introduced if goes to trial since hearsay unless verified.

But 90% of busts are an easy slam dunk from ads that have terms like GFE or other abbreviations. That is solicitation for prostitution as one of the most known gals in Phoenix knows who lost such a case before a jury a few years ago.  Easy to convince the jury the meaning of GFE etc.

Lately fortunately often just arrest/ticket for escorting without a license and not having license ID on ad.

Minor citation in Phoenix and costs you about $1500.  Worse in Scottsdale since $1500 plus go to jail but not the minimum first offense 15 days that solicitation charge gets as mandatory in all of Arizona.

The key is knowing what not to say with any client - never discuss sex for money or acts - those abbreviations get you in legal trouble easily.  And what you do and especially say when the undercover arrives is the most important thing to know.

BP is terrible for guys since so many ripoffs or recent report of when arrive the Mexican dudes with guns robbed of money and took guys cell phone about a week ago.   But guys legal risk is almost zero unless a reverse sting which many hotels help PD organize.

Gals take 99% of the legal risk and guys take most of the risk of being ripped off or robbed from places like BP.  Other boards less risky.

P411 is about the safest route for both and take any "breaches" very seriously and have notification process for anyone contacted via the site to notify if a sting companion or guy gets through their screening which is very rare

As Azlacy pointed out upset ex boyfriends, upset client, neighbors are a large risk because PD does act on complaints.

Remember the early 2000s with new no contact Phoenix strip club law where TV reported on all the money spent for undercovers to have drinks and watch for the slightest illegal touch (even fully clothed hugging illegal since breasts can not touch mans body).  One of my owner friends had to shut down for 2 weeks or pay huge fine for a slight wrong touch violation.

Fortunately today almost no enforcement other than specific complaints. At one club ex boyfriend told LE she was doing illegal act at strip club.  Undecovers came in, got a illegal touch and arrested her.  But never even contacted owner or management - owner didn't even know until dancer told what happened.

I of course was in the forefront of the 1999 battle, spoke against new laws (massage, strip, swing) at City council hearings, on talk radio, represented club (Stevi Secrets) with club owners group led by head of Great Alaskan etc.   But the fight goes on today moving more to Internet in private consenting adult companions all under the rouge of going after child sex trafficking.

Back in 90s it was about safety for children and neighborhoods.   Loved the TV report scanning the huge parking lot of Chameleon swing club trying to find any children or neighborhoods.  Just rail road tracks and industrial neighbors.  But that was the excuse and new laws wrote by Christian group now behind many of the anti adult sex laws across the nation... to "protect neighborhoods and children" but more honestly to promote their anti-sex legalistic - no biblical basis -Christian agenda.

...i'm not lesser or better of a companion based on where I choose to advertise.

And I've never found one site to be safer than the other even P411 and date-check.  What matters is YOU and how YOU screen regardless of where a client finds you.

That is all.

What I was thinking at the time was: if you advertise on a site that is plastered on the news frequently and you aren't screening, your chances of running into trouble increase. It just seems that those sites that are in the limelight are where the majority of people hang out, including psycho's and LE.

I agree with you Mocha...it really doesn't matter where we advertise. What is important is how thoroughly we screen our potential guests.

The latest bust was in Chandler at the Windmill Inn ticked both for no license (didn't think Chandler has licensing) and prostitution, so now we know of 1 each in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Chandler.

It may be another joint FBI/local PD task force again, about the 3rd in the last 9 months nationwide always includes Phoenix - prior led by the Chicago Chief or AG using child trafficking as excuse.

Out of 1000 last action they found like 6 under aged and 1 claimed to have been forced by pimp. Rest were all consenting adults

I agree....Ladies screen well. It is for your protection. Get a description if you can.  Personally, I have NEVER had a bad visit with a lady who screens well!!! However, even with research and reviews, when the lady does NOT screen, I have had some .....well you can imagine.

As a side note, it speaks well that the lady who screens well is also concerned for my safety as welll as her own. Be safe people!!

i agree Gina, utimately it comes down to through screening on the providers part and discretion on the part of the hobbyist and relying on reputation and history with certain providers.
