I am curious what should be the appropriate amount of time I should wait for a provider to respond to an e-mail for an appointment, before I ask another provider? I requested an appointment a week in advance and have waited 3 days already. I travel a lot and would like to be courteous, but would also like to schedule my weekend. Any suggestions?

Unless there is something rude in the email, I try to respond within 24 hours.  I list on my site that I will not respond to emails or phone calls on Sundays ( I usually do take a peek, but try not too lol).

I would say that most providers respond same day - 48 hours.  Did you send a little follow up note ?  I get tons of emails a day and sometimes an email may get deleted in error

if a providers lists an email as a way to contact them, I will usually sent off an email to se how responsive they are. It very surprising the level of response and time it takes for some to respond. Some are very quick, while others never respond at all.  They usually get put on the bottom of the wish list.

Most of the time, I am on a 24 hour Turn around.
This week, for example... I have been slow to get back to emails because I was playing catch-up after being out of town for the week, I had a sick doggie at home, and I celebrated my birthday with family both days of the weekend and took Yesterday (the actual day off).
I certainly have been behind, but will return to my normal self after I get back in town next Monday.

within 24 hours, unless I'm out of town and then there is a message saying how to get in touch with me.

The following assumes you allow at least a week advance time prior to your appointment window. I can't schedule horny more than a day or so out, so I rarely go e-mail locally unless it's for a special occasion, like New Year's or my birthday. But I use this method every time I travel, and it's never let me down.

E-mail the first time, with a nice hello, and all the information for screening that a particular provider may need, letting them know you will be on a tight schedule and really need to nail down a specific day and/or time, and you're really looking forward to hearing from her.

Wait 36 hours-any provider who treats this like any kind of a business should be able to at least SEE the e-mail in a day and a half. If they aren't checking their emails once a day, they aren't interested in doing business, IMHO...or they're so busy they certainly don't need my business.

Yeah, yeah, I know life happens, and there's always reasons for everything, but I'm the consumer, that's not MY problem.

TIP: E-mail auto-responders can work wonders ladies, look into it if you don't already know.

After 36 hours, send a follow-up if you haven't heard, something light, breezy and friendly, you're just touching base in case the first email got lost or whatnot. Re-send your verification info, so if they DID lose your email, they have your info right there.

Wait another 24. If you don't hear anything, time for email number 3. Hi, just touching base again on whether you're available for (insert day and time here), and/or if you need more info from me to verify. If you could, please get back to me within 24 hours, either way, so I can plan my trip. Thanks so much-looking forward to hearing from you.

Wait a day-if nothing, send the move on email-Sorry we couldn't get together this time, perhaps I'll try you again next time I'm in town. Thanks and take care.

That's maybe 3 and a half days total-still got 3 days to try again with someone else.

Now, if I was you...I'd be doing this exact procedure with a couple of the women I want to see when I am in town. (You should always contact at least 4 providers you would/could/want to see at any given time, to cover the unforseen, again IMHO-put the odds in YOUR favor to have a for sure appointment.) Then whoever gets back to you fastest gets the appointment. There is no reason you should go one provider at a time, shotgun your business out there, see who wants it, and has their stuff together enough to get back to you timely.

I'm not saying make them compete for your business, but if you think about it, they all are-reward the ones who make the effort with your business. Let the one's who didn't get back to you know you passed because of it. Again, the key is to be nice. Cause it COULD just be circumstances, and maybe the next time you can hook up. You get whiny and pissy, you can forget it, with her and every other provider she tells about your stalkey, pestering emails.

If she's interested in growing her business, maybe the next time she'll get back to you. If not, you're still a nice guy. No point in getting bent about it-plenty of providers out there want your business.

How does the saying go? Things can't go according to plan if you have no plan.

A little research and organization goes a LONG way to ensuring you...
