Lo and behold, I had a situation arise the other night - one that has not happened to me in a l o n g time and after speaking with several providers about this, I am curious.

How many of you gents double book?  Is the provider show up rate really that bad that clients now feel the need to double and sometimes triple book for the same time period?

Gotta tell ya, it was just by accident I found out I was double booked the other night and the client's explanation was, "Well, every time I travel I have had to learn that I must double book or else I'll never get to see anyone"

LOL - ironically, he didn't see anyone the night he was scheduled with me! - we both cancelled as soon as we discovered the dirty pool!!!

So guys - tell me.  How often and ?why? do you double book?  Alias' encouraged as I understand that some of you gents might not wish to be found out ;)

*kisses*

Jazz, it happens more than you know, My friend Sophia and I use to talk daily and we would find out the guy would be booking us both the same time and yes we wouls both cancel on him or what can be more fun do a three way call to him now that can really make them squirm.....Now on the other side of the coin it is too bad that that some PROVIDERS are so unreliable that a client woiuld feel the need to double book....V

is what is so infuriating to those providers who DO try and offer stellar, consistant service.  Providers who do not give a hoot for a clients schedule.....  (of course, we could start another thread about the lack of respect for our schedules, but nah - not today ;)   )

I felt bad for the gent, really - his explanation made sense.  It makes me a little hot under the collar that clients feel the need to do this due to bad service, or lack thereof, provided in the past.

makes me steamed - I actually suggested that we both show up at the same time.  If only to see the look on his face when it was not one, but both ladies who had booked -

Sheesh!  LOL - it's all good -

Thanks for your response luv!

I can't speak to the current state of affairs, but I can speak to my experience of virtually the entire 1990's:

I almost always did incall. I'd do my "homework" and decide upon which girl I might like to see.  I'd call the ad, make an appointment, arrive at the designated payphone (this was before cells were in wide use) and call (indicating that I'd arrived). At least 50% of the time, when I arrived, I'd get no answer.  I'd call back several times. No answer.  But if I called back in, say, an hour, it always seemed she was mysteriously available again, and I'd get some weird excuse about her parents dropped by, etc.  Took me a while to figure out that other guys had beaten me to the location and snagged my "appointment". Forget "Double booked"...the girls would say yes to literally everyone, and it was first-come, first served.

I'd find myself in the middle of Hollywood with no "backup plan".  So I began carrying backup plans with me.  After getting stood-up several more times, I actually found the need to rank my choices, call several of them, and then see who actually folowed through.  When I struck paydirt, I'd try to call the others to cancel (half of them were not answering anyway, confirming the validity of why I was doing it this way).

My long-term learning was/is that this is a tough activity in which to make connections.  It is tough on both sides.  It;s hard to find a girl that will actually show-up, and for the lady, it's hard to trust that the man will actually show-up.  I just chalked it all up to one of the downsides to the activity, and just rolled with it.  I know a lot of guys write reviews these days about no-shows, but I think both sides are almost equally responsible.  I'm sure that people using the local TER "community" are probably having less hassle though.

Perhaps the perpetrator should follow the airline model for overbooking and offer the provider denied boarding compensation.

No shows/no calls from both hobbyists and providers is very frustrating to the other party and in an ideal world would not happen.  This is, however, not an ideal world.

I have not, and would not, book two ladies for the same time, but I see nothing wrong with booking two ladies in the same day, serially, and seeing both.  I did this once and the ladies jumped all over me, contending I had "double booked" them.  Not true at all.  I'm still young and vigorous enough to be able to see two ladies in the same day and resented being accused of something improper.

Oh well, yer pays yer money and yer takes yer chances.

I have been stood up 3 times, and that is significant, because I travel to Arizona infrequently and that is basically where I practice the hobby, also infrequently.

One no show was the case of booking time with the lady and then calling as required to get directions and no answer, from 2 hours before the appointment to appointment time, calling about every 15 minutes.

The second time was the same kind of situation, no answer when I called to get directions.

The third time was out of state when there was no answer on the hotel room door when I showed up for the appointment and no answer to either hotel room phone calls or calls to her cell phone.

I never found out why I was stood up in the first two cases, but learned that in the third case, the lady had become ill.

I can see why somebody might be tempted to double book if he had experiences like that. But I don't believe it's right to punish other ladies for bad experiences with previous tries.

I have found that the high majority of ladies are very reliable and conscientious about keeping appointments.

I think we all elusively yearn for "honor among thieves".  The whole underground nature of the activity really renders that goal impossible.  The activity brings a melting pot of personalities and backgrounds together.  Some were brought-up with good manners, punctuality, etc.  Some were brought-up with "look out for number 1" as their life mantra.  We all tend to associate with like-minded people when back in our "real" worlds.  But in this place, all bets are off (in my opinion).

I see providers often posting messages expressing frustration at no-shows, and I see men posting negative reviews of women who've no-shown on them.  I'm not saying to double-book your providers, but I am saying that you should always go forth with a back-up plan if it is your desire to be seen.

Now granted i use alternate venues then the norm, so i expect a certain number of no call no shows. I still havent resorted to double booking, however i have started to call around to make a new appointment if i havent been able to confirm 30 minutes or so before her expected arrival.

I have to point out that my double-booking ocurred when cell phones were not common among the masses.  Since I sought the incall gals, I was always "out in the field" when I'd discover I'd been stood-up.  I couldn't just step over to the computer and select another girl.  I'd have already driven 30-40 minutes to get to the "zone" in L.A. where most working girls seemed to do biz.  If my chances of being no-showed were so outrageously high, and since I was likely VERY horny, I simply had to have another option.  If I did not double book, well, I could be out in Hollywood all day shoving quarters into payphones and trying to make connections.  Actually, there were several times where I spent entire afternoons, trying in vain to make something work.  Waste enough time doing that (enough times), and you'll lose any guilt over calling a few girls simultaneously.  Like I said before, once I had a confirmed visit, I'd call and cancel with the other girls, and some of those girls would not be answering the phone when I DID call to cancel, so I know I would have been stood up with them anyway.

The thing I hated the most, is that after you'd get stood-up, you'd call the girl later-on to find out what happened, and she;d either make up an outrageous lie, or she'd pretend that she had no idea who you were, or that she'd booked any appointments at all.

OR, you'd get home and the girl would call you 2 hours late, wondering why you were not there yet (that was rich).

I have not 'double booked'.  I've been very luckey, not to run accross any flakes.  I tend to book with well reviewed ladies and a few trusted agencies.  You don't get a great reputation, by being a flake or tolerating flakes.  Now, having said this, sometimes, stuff happins.  Guys hobby time can be limited, by other factors.  We all hate to have our time waisted.  Double booking hurts the ladies, they are counting on the donation and not getting it. I won't double book.

When travelling, for some reason, it happens that I have ben "stood up" more often than not. Even with my sleuth skills, references, etc. Sorry it happened to you. But if a guy is coming in from out of town, he has limited time slots usually. Unlike locals. To see the girl he wants to see.

I was told by a group of friends a long time ago, always have a backup plan. And, this is what rubs me wrong, often, I will try and reschedule on my next trip, and if I DO get to see the one who stood me up, there is little ofered in the way of incentive to see her a next time. Our time is worth money as well. I am sure some do a great job of rectifying the situation, but that has not been my experience.

BUT, I would not have taken his double booking personally. Especially for someone coming in from out of town. Guys that come in that I know, I always make sure they have or I know of a backup for them. You would be amazed at the ratio of girls wanting a different time than was previously agreed to because they are running late, and like I said, often those coming in have tight schedules while they are travelling. It is not just a matter of cancelling or being stood up, but those last minute annoying phone calls from the provider saying she is running late when I have dinner plans with the boss for later :-)

Cheers!

is good to have....

Phoenix has given me some of my best and worst experiences....

I'm not here to name names, but my first foray into the hobby was delayed by a no show.  Newbie lesson learned was to have another lady to call....

The same lady gave me another excuse on my next visit, but I was able to see someone since I'd learned my lesson the prior visit....

And on a trip last year, I got the No Call/No Show for an appointment even though the lady had call me several times earlier in the day.  I'd scheduled doubles, her friend couldn;t make it, but I told her I'd still like to see her solo, but she never answered my calls when I got near the incall, nor did she respond to my emails upon my return home....

I'd just seen my ATF a couple of times earlier on the visit, and she was able to provide a reference to another lady I had been interested in seeing, and we were able to get together before my return home....

Elsewhere, I had another lady cancel by email the morning of my trip due to a family emergency, but at that point I didn;t have the opportunity to try to do anything else....

No double booking, but good research up front, and a few extra phone numbers in hand is the best way to go....

From a different perspective..I work as a phone op for one of the largest agencies in the valley so I am exposed to both sides.  I find clients that double book because they are playing the odds that at least one will show or they have had prior experiences with untimely providers..I find that being honest with the client works best!  For the most part, providers do their best to make their appointments in a reasonable amount of time.  There will always be some girls who, should we say, are "punctually challanged"  I always inform the client if he wishes to book one of the few that are.."you're sure to have the time of your life...I just can't promise at what time that may be" Basically I give the "buyer beware" clause & clients make their decision from there..I find it works quite well.
