I try and stay off the  soap box but  flu season is  coming and I  try remind  the ladies and gents to consider getting  a  flu shot.   We can be in close contact  with each other and would want all to stay  healthy.  Flu  shots  should  be  coming out in the next  few  weeks.  Here is  link  to the CDC  website on the flu  for those that want more  info.   Hope everyone  stays  clear  of  those  nasty  little bugs.

you meet the following requirements:

Vaccine should be reserved for babies and toddlers ages 6-23 months; people 65 or older; anyone with a chronic condition such as heart or lung disease; pregnant women; nursing home residents; children on aspirin therapy; health care workers who care for high-risk groups; and anyone who cares for or lives with babies younger than 6 months.

For everyone else, “take a deep breath. This is not an emergency,” said Dr. Julie Gerberding, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “We don’t want people to rush out and look for a vaccine today.”

We were informed today that one of the 2 manufacturers of the flu vaccine is out of the game based on inspection of their plant in England.  Devastating news to folks in public health since we now only have 58 million doses of vaccine.  We administered 87 million last year.  There will definitely be a shortage, and we need to save it for the groups above.

Until they can figue out if someone really did "spit" in 48 million doses  of flu  vaccine we will have the  above  guidelines. Hopefully  taking care in not exposing others will help.
Thanks to enjoyinglife2  for  posting the current update .

At least  this time  I can  be  embarrassed  without taking my clothes off. LOL

I actually am very faithful about getting my flu shot every year, but hate the after affects...
As soon as I get the flu shot, I feel like I have the flu the whole next week.  I guess it is worth it for a full season of no other flu like symptoms.  I agree with Modprod about those in the business getting them...there is too much to go around these days, and covering all the bases with your health should always be a must!

Safe Kisses,
Madison  :-)

"Vaccine should be reserved for babies and toddlers ages 6-23 months"

IMO it's actually becoming controversial the added vaccines to babies... whatever.
