Son, we live in a world that requires moderation. And that moderation must be done by people with elite skills. Who's going to do it? You, Mr. Hobbiest? You, Ms. Provider? You, Mr. Agency? I don't think so.
We have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You scoff at our open work areas and you curse our big screen monitors. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know - that while the cost of delivering moderation may seem to be excessive (HA), it drives revenue and saves money. And my very existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, drives BUSINESS!
You don't want to know the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about in chat rooms... you want me moderating. You NEED me moderating!
We use words like delete, delete, and delete. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent delivering something. You use them as a punch line!
I have neither the time nor inclination to explain myself to people who rise and sleep under the very blanket of moderation I provide and then question the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you log in to a computer and write some moderation. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!"

I left the boards awhile ago due to the fact I felt I had wronged a poster by outing him and found out later it was not the right guy due to all the aliases it was sleepycat13 not sleepy cat31 and I felt bad, but since I have been lurking here I know see that Sleppy cat 31 has been back and not in a nice way ,I am referring to the post on sweet sarah which was not very nice { by the way kudos to Sarah for rising above the drama and showing class and diginity in a reponse to him}I gave Sleppycat my apology via PM for what I had done and left the boards but now after seeing his post I have no guilt and will post here again. I have missed being part of PHX and only hope that in the future we can all play well together and be kind and show support to our fellow posters. This should be a fun forum for all and I look forward to being back in the game.....I am returning on Monday to PHX and will see everyone soon.......Victoria

Good for you Victoria.
It takes a lot of courage to come back to someplace you left with unpleasant memories.
Just remember, there are always going to be those who want to belittle others because they can.
However, as I told you in my PM when you left, there are many more who support the ladies and will defend you when needed.
I, too, went away for a while for different reasons, tho.
I also missed the people here, well, most of them, and have enjoyed being back as a contributor to this community.

after all the drama and lies that cost me to spend several hours trying to get to the bottom of todays fake posts and feeling that I might of caused harm to a poster by outing the wrong person, for which I am very sorry. i know realise that there is a good reason why so few people take the time and effort to share there views and thoughts.....I never wanted to be a queen just someone to share my life stories with and maybe a laugh or two. I have enjoyed my time here and thank you for letting me be a small part of the group I wish you all good will and will check in sometimes to see how everyone is doing but for now on this board I am now a lurker.....I will do like other providers and place an ad every now and then peace. everyone.Victoria

You say her posts are senseless, yet you read them. That would lead one to believe that they interest you. Senseless would be using an alias to slam someone-
Hopefully she repays you for your kindness.
I'm not the only one that feels this way.
Just maybe the only one to say it.
An alias only avoids a rude PM from the personalities you dont see on the board.
FYI, non-paying members don't get PM.

When you go to the main page of this forum, there is a message at the top of the page which says, in part:
This is a moderated forum in which flames and messages outside the forum topic will be deleted. Please do not post messages that are simply mean, or meant to cause trouble for trouble's sake.
If the moderators adhered to this policy, this forum would be more civilized.
For the lack of moderation, I would hope the users of this forum would understand what a troll is, and to stop feeding them.

In Internet terminology, a troll is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, often in the form of posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, absurd, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others.
Trolls are very successful at provoking reactions, here.
You have no idea what you are talking about....you speak of lack of moderation....when someone proves themself a jerk, I allow the train wreck to stay up to let the community know what they are dealing with....you have NO WAY of knowing what doesn't make it to the boards.....
You have NO reviews, and are unmoderated after only 9 posts....maybe I am too liberal with this freedom of speach stuff....
The phoenix community SELF moderates and when something goes up that is off, they shout down the offender.
Be careful what you ask for gnubie, you might just get it and you won't like it....a censored and heavily moderated PC board.

You should let all the posts go through if the Phx community is so good at self moderating. I cancelled my subscription to People magazine and some of these posts are just down right hilarious. I guess I am a liberal and like your liberal policies. Who is Gnubie anyhow?

animal waste....on occasion, I change an alias to a user name to stop trouble for troubles sake....most everything questionable goes through....there are still providers who don't know how to count to 7 or add a badge to their site....Phoenix is the best city I moderate for knowing the rules.

It's best when it's strong, but too much of it can be bad for you.
In the past two weeks I've observed our Moderator take actions (some of which may have been lost on less-active observers) that are fair, insightful and almost real-time responsive to needs.
DO YOU REALIZE THE MODS ARE VOLUNTEERS? That's right...Dingus15 is a very successful businessman from the East Coast. He has no dog in any fights here in Phoenix. He spends hours every week for the good of the hobby. For YOU!
Take the time to get to know this board, and then take a moment sometime to express your appreciation, lest ye be thought a troll thyself! I doubt that many of us could do half the job he does here.
i suppose moderating is a lot like umpiring. the spectators seem to have their own views and sometimes give a lot of grief... but ask if anyone else would like to do it, there are never any takers. Cudos to you Dingus.
Are you applying for a volunteer position on the Phx board kind of like that Smarty joker from Vegas? I wish Dingus would post more often some of his thoughts
iceman.. i think you misunderstood. i was agreeing with O.C. and trying to relate what dingus does to little league volunteer umpiring (i.e. there is always someone who thinks they're better but when asked to do it they decline vehemently... obviously i did it poorly and failed to get the point across). and .. no.. i wouldn't want the job of sheriff dingus.. and yes i agree with you in that most of us couldn't do half the job he does. so to play on the words of one of THE BEST ORATORS OF ALL TIME.. he's the best there is, the best there ever was.. and the best there ever will be... WOOOOOOOOOO!!
I was commenting under OC, not you. My remark was meant to be sarcastic. I think Dingus does a great job. Makes me wonder how much influence some people have on the board with the Sheriff around here. I can see OC being made the deputy much like Smarty on the Vegas board. Thats the point I was trying to make
