Here are some of my favorites:

Parc Brasserie is a good restaurant on the park. Max Brenner will satisfy any chocolate cravings.

The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Company is a cool throwback lounge to the speakeasy days. Howl at the Moon is a dueling piano bar and more lively.

Enjoy!!!

Visiting for an evening and exploring Philly for the very first time! What are some of the do-not-miss places to dine and enjoy a cocktail (or two)?? Looking for spots I can easily get to from Rittenhouse Square.

Thanks all!

There are some great restaurants in Philly.  I can't comment on the Club scene because I don't do that here in Philly (not allowed).  But for food and a great bar try one of these:

1) Vernick Food and Drink,  is on the Square at 20th and Walnut.  Vernick is a rising star chef born in the area, trained all over.  I recommend the steak and a Buffalo Trace Manhattan.

2) Vetri,  not on the square but a quick cab ride to 13th and spruce. He's a James Beard award winning chef.  Can be tough to get a table even on a Sunday evening...unless you know someone who grew up with Marc.

3) Alma de Cuba: 16th and Walnut,  Douglas Rodriguez (James Beard award winning chef) from Miami, globally acclaimed "Godfather"   of nuevo latin cuisine.  Try one of their spicy cocktails.

4) Barclay Prime:  a bit pricey but good... Stephen Starr steakhouse on the Square.

5) Rouge: on the square there voted by several magazines a few years back to have the best
cheese burger in the country.

6) you have to get a cheese steak from Gino's, Pat's and Jim's and you decide which is best...its an age old battle here in Philly

Well good luck....I wish I could join ya!

a great choice right on Rittenhouse, Cannon. Howl at the Moon is fun, too.

...to try some more out next time I'm in town. Will be back sooooooon...

Happy Holidays all!

I still talk about the dinner I had this time a year ago with a client and another provider. It was yummy. Of course dessert was equally delicious. ;-)
