The way I see it the term alias AS USED on this board is any name other than the one on your TER birth certificate.
For the purpose of this board The name on your TER birth certificate is your "real name" and any other name you use is an alias
As for me, I suppose,technically,  you could say I  have numerous aliases, however since the Followme family is so large I allow my cousins and other family menbers to sign on using my TER log in name then go to their names such as
SantaFollowmeClaus
FatherFollowme
EasterFollowmeBunny
PopeFollowmeLXIX
DrFollowmeOBGYN
RabbiFollowme
Followmeopolis
to name just a few of my family (there are many others )
So technically these are aliases , however in my case they are all real  members of the followme family.
To the best of my knowledge they do behave themselves, well sort of, most of the time...

sometimes they are necessary  when you want to make a valid point without being judged or criticized.

One of my favorite aliases is "Robot from Lost n Space"  I have used him on countless times to warn  hobbyist of ripoffs or Bait and switch providers.

Personally, I agree...aliases really don't serve any useful purpose.  If you can't say what you want under your real ID, then maybe it's just not worth saying.  Your screen ID isn't your "real" name anyway, so why hide that pseudonym behind yet another alias.  Man up guys...either write under your real ID, or don't post; it really is that simple.

See guys this is really the point i am trying to get at if a lady burned you we need to know that we can honestly believe that you got burned and if you are posting under another alias under your own how do we know to actually trust you???


But see this also needs to be seen from an Agency's point of view because we do ask for your sn's if you want to get additional discounts from time to time... But if you have no reviews because you are using an alias then guess what no discount.

but, there are really two issues here.  1st is posting under an alias, which has its advantages and dis-advantages as discuss thru this thread, the other is more of a screening issue...if you screen someone and they use an alias I would be suspicious of that person, just as you would if they call on a blocked number, or use a fake name.

The reason these heroes have aliases is to protect themselves and their loved ones. They could not be as effective doing the good that they do without their aliases.

Sometimes  the hobby is the sameway....There are forces for good and there are forces for evil. I could not  rid the board of scum like TYJESUS if I had to be concerned  with him or her attacking me or my family.
