Reading Terminal Market has a nice array of food stands..located at 12th and Filbert (one block north of Market Street), open mornings and afternoons.  The Marriott at 12th & Market has a nice lunch buffet.

Philly has so many wonderful restaurants.  If it's fine dining you long for try some of my favs:  Fogo de Chao, Le Bec-Fin, Jake's Rest & Bar, the Capitol Grill, Upstairs at Varalli, Zanzibar Blue, Brassierie Perrier, .......

but where to go for the best is a whole other thread. My vote goes to Delasandro's on Ridge Ave

a tough question to answer! Feuds have started over that question! Some may say Pat's or Geno's at 8th and Passyunk. Others claim Jim's Steak on South Streat. There are others around the city that offer great sandwichs.

You will know you've had a great steak sandwich when the roll is soft and tastes like it was baked within the hour (Geno's and Pat's get bread deliveries multiple times a day since they are both open 24x7.), and the meat is tender and juicy, with just a bit of grease and 'Wix oozing out as you bite into it. Mmmmmm  mmm!

Well, it all depends on how much you'd want to spend on a meal. For lunches, going to the Reading Terminal Market is nice, and I highly recommend the sandwichs and other lunchtime eats at DiBruno Brothers on 1730 Chestnut Street. It's neat just walking around their store as well for the sights and smells. Check it out.

For fancy meals, where money is not a concern, The Palm is a local favorite. http://www.thepalm.com/
Le BEc Fin usually lives up to the hype as a top-tier French Restaurant. Not the biggest portions (what French Restaurant does?) but this place is run by world-reknowned chef GEorges Perrier.

A number of other places have opened up on Walnut Street I haven't had the chance to go to yet.

Have fun!

There are several in the general Rittenhouse Square area that are pretty good.  The two that I've been to were both at TER Meet & Greets -- Continental and Alma de Cuba, and I can recommend both.  Down towards Penn's Landing, there are a bunch more -- Tangerine (site of the first Philly M&G), an Irish place, Cuba Libre, The Mexican Post, and others...

Damn, now I'm hungry....  :)
