Guys: How often has this hppened?

Last week I went through a detailed screening process to get a date this evening with a well reviewed provider.  No problem, and the appointment was set before the weekend.  Sometime during the day I received a message that a client had decided to book her overnight which meant my appointment was cancelled.  I played by the book and was really looking forward to the session.

Last year a different provider, twice in one month, bumped me because another client requested a longer appointment.  I never bothered to reschedule.

In previous years I had one provider experience phone problems which prevented the rendezvous, and another provider took a much longer than expected nap which resulted in a no show.

5 provider screw ups in 5 years of hobbying.  Should I complain?

Don't know how to answer your question, but it certainly does confirm one thing - no matter how much they say they like the guys and all that, it's still a business and the bottom line is what matters.

While I've often heard stories of guys getting bumped because the current client wanted to stay longer, it hasn't happened to me (but sure will now that I've said that, lol.) And I've heard that in various cities, not just here.

I have experienced times where advance communications gave me the perception I would get time carved out for an appointment but it didn't work that way after all. So I actually never had an appointment that got bounced because someone else stayed longer.

As far as the other problems you mentioned, sure those things happen (again I haven't had them happen but sure as hell will now, lol.) But 5 in 5 years is rather a good track record, in my estimation.

Get use to it. Even if you have seen a provider before she can do a NCNS (now call no show). The best solution is to see other providers and write reviews on them. It happened to me in June. I went on a hobbyton and saw 7 providers. Out of the 7 that I saw, 6 of them I had never seen before. Out of those 6 I saw 2 of them 2 times. I feel much better because I got more variety than I have had in past years.

I just started hobbying about 6 mos ago. after much research here on TER, I picked out 2 locals I wanted to see. made contact with my first choice, went thru screening, set date 3 wks ahead. exchanged emails and a wk & half before the appt she cancels, no reason and won't reschedule???
the 2nd local was just a wacko from day 1. both very well reviewed here on TER. the 2nd one is on this board a lot.
awful start for me, learning process.
anyway, since then, i've seen 4 locals & 2 out of towners. 1 local 4x and another 2x and i'm going to keep seeing them, all have been good experiences.
as you guys say: YMMV....lol
one other thing I learned, with an out of towner, set up an appt over a week ahead, enjoyed some emails back & forth, phone calls, then a day ahead an unavoidable work issue comes up and I have cancel....she gets pissed off and no longer friendly.....consider myself lucky I didn't spend the money on her even if she had good reviews.

NCNS happened to me a few times, all with indies. One time I booked a well known indie a day earlier, drove 1.5 hor to the place, only to waste my time in the parking lot for nothing.  This is why I only go with reputable agencies now for no hazzle appointment. Agencies will not keep habitual NS girls and in fact, no employer of any job will.  Indie runs her own biz and can't fire herself for bad customer service.  I am not saying all indies are bad apples, but the notorious ones that I hear often in the board are indies.

I got bumped out one time by an agency due to a client before me booked for an extended dinner date.  But the agency compensated me by offering another lady for discount rate and I gladly took it.

It happened to me yesterday. See the NY board. Long story short, she claims to have sent me an email canceling. there was no email and I asked her to resend it so I could see the time stamp on the original. Still waiting for that one that will never come.
Providers cancel on us if they are visiting and do not get enough appointments in a city to make the trip worthwhile. Also if they find a "sugardaddy" who will pay them more for an overnight or extended session. It works both ways. And since they are independent contractors I really can't blame them for going after the $$$. I just wish they would be a little more honest about it.

let me see if I understand you? You're baffled at someone whose body of choices has led to this business being irresponsible? and you feel that she should respect that you "played by the rules" over an easier buck (or thousand)? Lets have a look...what do we call the body of 'rules' hold up as a social contract?...laws...and in most states in THIS country, her business is....you get it?
There are no hearts of gold, there are no Jjulia Roberts, and no GFEs. There are anonymous transactions of varying quality for their pantomime of fleeting moments of reality; and sometimes their illicit nature is exhilerating and sometimes it bites you on the ass. Consider the cost/risk/benefit analysis and proceed accordingly. And DONT take the word of any of the numerous sex addicts whose chime in sounds like what you WANT to hear.

There is a flooding of indies today and NCNS has become a trend.  If the providers don't get enough calls to worth the trip adn hotel costs, it makes biz sense not to show up.  The nice ones will call the clients with excuses, many just turn up NSNC.  Another factor is that many providers aren't deciplined workers.  They aren't deciplined enough to keep regular jobs and this is why providing is good for them. Good money, no regular working hours, no need to listen to bosses and no need to show up if don't feel like it. Customer service means nothing to many providers.

Like Tigerguy, I stay away from indie and only deal with reputable agencies now.  At least, there is a boss to decipline their service.

ouch TWL6699, a mortal wound from the man whose reviews contain such grammer and spelling gems (the cory review is a standout -" i "like that you think she is "accomandating").
But really, this isnt eatalot's first 'letdown' (I recall much consternation about a previous ATF's behavior??) Just a sincere suggestion to adjust his perspective to avoid further feelings of victimhood.

Newbie:  Personally, I don't do agencies, except maybe once or twice a year.  Hit an agency girl at the end of the day on the end of a weeklong trip, you'll understand why.  She's fried, and it's not necessarily her fault.
