Perhaps instead of posting stats on every regional board, you could simply come out and say whatever your hypothesis is, and avoid all the dramatic obfuscation?

I think it is pretty obvious - the stats from the other boards show the same thing as philly.  There are a lot of posts from women/providers and not as many from men/hobbyists. The point was that this wasn't an issue unique to the philly board, as the original post might have implied.

Okay. Fair enough. But what is the hypothosized reason for it?

Does the OP think it is related to change in TER policies, or something else? Could it be as simple as random fluctuation?

Or have the boards gotten boring, with the same old people having the same discussions and disagreements over and over again, with nothing new to say, causing other posters to simply tune out?

There, now you have my opinion. I wasn't disputing the stats or the observation, but wondering why the OP didn't just come out and say what they were thinking.

I'm keeping my thoughts & opinions to myself. Who wants to espouse their theories as to WHY so many TER regional boards are devoid of Male posters?

I can propose at least a couple theories...

1. To challenge your posit that men aren't posting as much, maybe providers are just posting more, for whatever reason (need to advertise more in a bad economy, more providers active on TER, etc.).

2. Fewer guys in the hobby due to the economy.

3. Fewer guys posting because they're busy with seasonal activities (including chasing non-provider women).

4. Fewer guys posting HERE due to specific board issues.

Personally, the prior moderator so thoroughly disgusted me with his laziness and pot-stirring that I went into lurker mode -- I may read the Philly board daily, but I rarely sign in to post anything.  Add to that my hobby hiatus, and I don't have a lot to say anyway...

its because most of the posts are from girls who are advertising.
On a side note I didn't realize I was so far up there, number two behind the legendary Christophtrac  Hawk.

I usually like to bat at least 4th... or sloppy seconds at a minimum.  lol

What a fucking retarded post.  Almost as fucking retarded as the other post about Hawk and his reviews.

Thanks R2T,the only reason I even sign on to TER is to see what women are available. Who the f*ck cares about the gossip on here. just my $.10 because of inflation

Men have migrated to other boards which provide more info for free, and only ladies are left posting ads.  The loss of men is even more severe if one takes into consideration that the mod limits ladies to post once a week.

You are WRONG.

You selectively picked out a few top 10 on regional boards.
If you look at the general discussion board, the top 10 for all of TER and others you will find it mostly male.
Also just because a few regional boards have more gals in the top 10 does not mean that there are mostly gals posting , it just means that in a few places there are more gals in the top 10 not more gals posting.

So therefore in conclusion your question cannot be answered because the question itself in not valid.

Good answer my boy.  Do your ladies post on here ?
or do you have guys who "post" for them ?

TER rules (not the mod)limits the ladies to one AD thread per week.
They can post under that thread all they want and they can post to any other thread they want and can start as many other threads they want as long as it is not an ad.

Thank you

The original post refers to the Philly board, not the general or other regional boards.  Each region is different and cannot be generalized across all regions.  The DC board is still very active, with a lot of discussion among hobbyists.  The Philly board is becoming an all lady ads board. The recent TER review board rule changed hasn't helped.
