I spoke to the oncologist today (about 4pm) and the CAT Scan indicates that the cancer is indeed located only in the colon. Strange, but true, as this is indeed a rare thing, but then all of this is an unusual occurrence. Considering all options, this is very good news and means that we can avoid another series of chemotherapy treatments or radiation treatments. The initial idea proposed by the doctor who performed the colonoscopy (Dr. Matusow) of a "laparascopic" procedure (a very un-invasive surgical procedure) to remove the tumor is an idea that the oncologist supports as well as my primary doctor. Given this unanimity, we are a go. I have contacted the docs and have scheduled the procedure with Dr. Dempsey at Temple University. The initial meeting is on February 2, and at this time we can get the operation scheduled and done and move on. I'm not and really never have been a "Pink Floyd" fan, but all in all it's just another brick in the wall.
Thanks for all the support. In a humorous way, I feel kind of like Mr. Magoo, in that all the calamity happens around me but the trouble does not stick to me. Trust me, I'm not complaining and I'm certainly not looking the gift horse in the mouth!!!
