Westin South Coast Plaza is fairly close to the airport, one of the greatest malls in all of California so if you get bored you can always go shopping or for fun Disneyland and a lot of great beaches in the area. Have fun

I've never been to oc and would love any ideas on where a good place is to stay????
If you're coming for the summer then you will want to stay by the beach. Huntingtin Beach may be a better value than Newport or Laguna. If you want to see all the real OV touristy stuff then stay up in Anaheim by Disneyland & Knotts Berry Farm (amusement park,roller coasters,etc) If you want quiet but easy access to most of the OC them stay in the airport area (John Wayne airport) or Lake Forest & take the day trips to wherever you want to go.
newport is nice as I work right on the water in the harbor but if you go towards seal beach you get the same nice beaches and then your close to LA and have the same great weather
