I don't remember who it was for but a few weeks ago I came across two reviews for two providers and the two reviews were exactly, word for word, the same. You would think that if someone was going to create a fake review they would be smart enough to at least use different words.
Have any of you come accross what you believe is a shill review?
I'm fairly new here and i've already seen 2 or 3 of what i believe are shill reviews. One of them that i saw a few weeks back was a no doubter although i can't remember who it was for.
Just another one of those first reviews by a first reviewer. TER says that is not supposed to happen, but I see it all the time. Don't understand the inconsistency myself. They make the rules about reviews, but only seem to follow them only if it suits them, esp on situations like this.
My question to you Bobuckeye would be why are you worried about a shill review? Unless that provider is on your to-do list, why do you give a shit if it's a shill or not? Shill reviews are a fact of this life. Face it, some guys are so enamored with certain providers that they think if they give her a glowing review, she might give them a discount next time. Shill reviews are gonna be there regardless, so why worry about them?
I'm sorry for the late reply. I was under the impression that my original comment was never posted here so over a period of time i just plain forgot to check back and just now ran across my post while surfing through the discussion board.
@ swimtrekr, the main reason i'm concerned with possible shill reviews is because most of us work hard for our money and make much less per hour than what a provider charges. We don't need liars trying to fool us into parting with our money by posting reviews that are only designed to rip us off. Even though most of us have never met each other, we're in this together and we should help each other out.
After all of this time i do see that the provider has other reviews now but it still doesn't change the fact that we should help each other out, that's why TER exists.
