junction about 15 minutes south of downtown.  You may also consider downtown because of the casino action.  Bad thing about Independence is that is not much to do in your spare time.  I hope you enjoy your visit.

I'm currently in Independence and I absollutely love it here.  I was previously in Cleveland and loved it there also.  This is a great place however, I do agree above...screen, screen, screen!!

Independence is a pretty good area with a mix of hotels. I've met a few ladies at other locations in that vicinity. I'll PM you with other options.

Definitely stay far away from downtown and Brooklyn.
