I am new to TER, and I have been making an effort to read through old posts and the FAQs.  One topic that is particularly interesting to me -- and to most others as well -- is how not to get caught.  And by "caught" I mean either LE or a significant other.  I know the standard advice:  get a burn phone, get a burn email address, don't hobby in your immediate area, etc.  But I wanted to ask some additional questions:

1.  Have you even been caught?  If so, by who?  Is there anything you could have done to prevent it?

2.  If you have never been caught, what do you attribute this to?  Do you have any special tips beyond what is mentioned above?

I think if you are safe, see well reviewed women and are careful with your phone and internet you should be pretty safe. I ve seen many women in the past 3 yrs and havent been close to being caught. Dont call backpage girls and unreviewed women. If you re married never give the wife a reason to doubt you. Use condoms if you are married.

Never been caught. Few tips:

1. See ONLY well reviewed girls, whose reviewers have many posted reviews.

2. DONT see girls with static incalls.

3. DONT go thru an agency.

4. If extremely LE phobic, do outcall to an upscale, large/busy lobby, non key card hotel.

5. Get a VIP membership here if you dont have one (that provides you with the info needed for #1)

Before I contact a provider, I look over the reviews of her, yes, I do take the time to read the reviews, maybe not every single one, but at least the most recent ones. That reduces the risk of the provider being LE.

At that point, I know how and what kind of screening the provider will do and follow her protocols. I have never heard of LE doing any type of screening. They may do it, but I have yet to experience that. That reduces the risk of her being LE.

9 times out of 10, I will only do incall sessions. The ones that do come to my location are the ones that I have seen a number of times. If the incall location is in an area that is subject to frequent LE presence, I will let the provider know that I will not go there and suggest she find another place that is not heavy in LE presence. I lived in my town for a LONG time, so I know where the best places are for sessions. The chances of getting busted is low.

Lastly, like some providers, I am a low volume hobbyist. There are some guys that like a higher volume, but so does the higher likelihood of getting caught by LE or SO. I only have 2 providers that I frequent on a regular basis and once in a while, I'll meet someone that I have not seen, but passed my "research" as mentioned above.

In short... I keep my eyes and ears open at all times and I don't let my "dick" do the thinking for me.

Static meaning she uses the same exact place all the time. Same hotel, same motel, her home, etc. Imho, she is just asking to get busted. You dont want to draw attention to yourself. You mix things up. I know lades when they tour wont pick the same hotel if they can help it or they greatly space out the time between using the same hotel.

Agencies have more "moving parts" so they are inherently less safe. More girls, more drivers, more screeners, etc. More people that LE can "turn." More witnesses. LE likes big scores. They LOVE tax evasion. Bigger = more money, fines, busts, makes politicians look good, etc. Several examples in recent years of client lists being outed of busted agencies. This doesnt mean every agency is rskier than every indy, but on balance, its not even close, again imho.

Static incalls I avoid as well. I have never seen a lady for the first time at her incall, always outcall to a large hotel. I would consider static to be a yr or more but it really depends on the area as well. Some ladies with incalls in lagre condos ect can be really safe. Some areas dont waste police force time on simple prostitution and other areas will be VERY aggressive in their approach. Watch in your area and you ll probably see patterns.
     Agencies tend to cooperate more with LE if they have problems, ask for more personal information and hold on to more personal information in files or on a computer. Jmho.

rented by one or more provider to conduct business.  Hopefully they don't work from where they sleep.  
As a Newbie, see well reviewed ladies typically in Hotels.  The 2 call system...  you'll call to get a location (hotel or cross roads) & she'll give you a room number or more specific instructions.  As an IN call, she rents the room.  You aren't linked to it once you are out the door, no reciepts or CC charges to go awry.  
I wanted to see one lady...  when she gave me the first directions, I realized the location could only be at the small Hotel next to the interstate...  where my whole neighborhood could drive by & see my car!  
Don't access your hobby email when anyone is nearby.  Shut off the hobby phone when not in use.  I like to clear the call logs before I leave her, so there's only calls on it while I'm going to a meeting.  
I greatest risk being caught by SO.  You have no rights!  I haven't been caught but I'm a quick study & I did a lot of stupid stuff in my youth.   You need to start right out with only the greatest care.  Tracks last forever.  I prefer to use coffee shop addresses rather than hotels...  in my GPS.  Always clear your last trip or make the last destination HOME.  
Don't use others as a cover...  I caught my EX that way.  (I didn't hobby then but it would have been cheaper than marrying her, but I digress)  
Do devolupe real hobbiest & interests, that take you out of the office or away from home occasionally.  And you do have to do them.  Walking, hiking, gym, biking, & it has to suit you.  You can't just start working late.  It has to fit you.  You could become a Trekie!  or a stamp collector.  
When you go to a meeting, dress appropriate to the location.  A business hotel might require a suit, a resort, casual wear.  You need to ask tHe hotel layout so you know how to get to the elevators without sticking out as lost.  And you need brass balls, walk in like you belong.

That you meet them in public first at a Wendy's or Starbuck's, and that you ALWAYS pay after the session.

The first time the hotel sent a copy of the bill to my home address.  Never give that to the hotel; give them your work address instead if they insist on one.

The second time she saw my car parked out front of the hotel in the city we live in.  Don't hobby in your home town if you can avoid it and don't have your car parked in a noticable place.  Use a garage or park a distance away.

...want to do any research or a put in a little effort to help yourself but you want to be spoon fed the answer.  Not from me; try a little harder next time.

i always stick with my regulars or the friends they recommend..i never delve into the unknown..they say a high risk brings a high reward..that might be true..but not in this hobby..

thanks for the info, but still not sure about "how to tell" whether the incall is static.

say i want to see an indy at her incall. i looked at her website, it looks good. she screens me and tell me the street to go to and the number to call when arrived. how would i know how static is her incall place (in other words, i don't know how to find out how long she has been in this place).

I don't want to be spoon fed.  On the contrary, I have been doing a lot of research on TER lately, but my exact question wasn't addressed.  Actually, it has probably been addressed a few times, but with so much info on this site, I couldn't readily find it.

Anyways, IMO I got a lot of useful info from this thread.  Thanks to everyone for the advice.

making sure that you have a change of clothes just for hobbying stashed away, so that there is no scent of perfume, body lotion etc...on you when you get home or into your car.

Lots of ladies have a "static" incall. This is generally safer for us.

It was when I was in school.  I scheduled a bodyrub appointment at a place that was a static incall that I had been to a few times before.

At the time of the appointment, I buzzed the apartment (I had been there before, so there was no two-call system being enforced).  No one answered.  I waited five minutes, buzzed again.  Then called.  No answer.  Was going to try one more time, as I had made the appointment less than an hour ago.  Finally, a girl nervously says, "Come on up."

I knock on the door after being buzzed in, and there is a big burly undercover cop.  He grabs my arm, and I see that there are a few girls sitting down, obviously upset.  Money, massage oil, lube, and condoms are all on the table.  The cop asks me a bunch of questions, and I tell him the real story.  I was there for a massage through an ad I answered, and I was a student.  He takes my business card (my graduate school program printed business cards for all of us for networking), and then gives me a warning about how these girls spread disease, and then lets me go.

That's it.  I got off lucky.

It is beyond crystal clear, he does NOT represent the majority of hobbyists, nor does he do things the way normal people do. Still, that has not stopped him from posting a dissertation about meeting a lady in public first, and paying after.

Yes I was just calling out serp. And I am seriously surprised that HV didn't get it. Maybe my post is not proper on the newbie board, but serpius should not be allowed to post advice on the newbie board at all!

While the advice he gave on this thread here was actually normal, it is not his m.o. And serp has given out some seriously bad and even dangerous advice on this very board, including his whole shpeel of the public meeting and paying after.
