is it possible to contact directly people who respond to questions on the discussion board?

If a someone posts with their handle (as you have done), people
can send them TER mail.  You can't do this if they post using
an alias.  You can tell which is which by checking for the
little yellow envelope next to the poster's name.

Also, you can not read your TER mail unless you are a VIP.
