especially private single family homes, but I've seen providers at their homes numerous times. Also I've known providers who've had to move from their private residence due to stalking clients, so you need to screen very carefully. Ideally, I like those large upscale business hotels where the lobby always has a fair amount of activity.

I have heard a lot of guys express opinions for both. Some like to meet the provider in a hotel as it allows for a little more amenity than going to the providers residence. Others worry it's easier for LE to set you up. As a provider, I have worked from hotels as well as my home. I thought this would be a good topic for people to discuss.
As a provider, I personally like working from my home rather than hotels for a few reasons. First of all I don't have to pack or go anywhere to set up. When I was working out of the hotels in my area, I had to worry about the hotel front desk, the other patrons, even security noticing the traffic and reporting it. I learned that hotels don't like providers seeing clients because it brings down business (that's debatable, but whatever). That alone was hassle enough. Then there is the 4-6 hour wait if you are in the process of switching hotels that you can't see clients. Usually between 11:00am and 3:00pm. The good things with hotels, is no matter how "large" a client may be, he's not going to break down my furniture. I have already had to replace my bed and it looks like this one won't last the year. That and maid service...I am always washing towels!
I really like working out of my home for so many reasons. Granted, the situation is anything but perfect right now. My step daughter is living with me right now, so I am cramped trying to live and work in one room. In a few months when she gets her own place, I will have the entire place to myself which will allow me to have one room to work in and one to live in.
There are a lot of little extras I get to include from my home that would have been too time consuming to set up each time. For instance. I am able to give my clients the choice to either listen to some relaxing music, or I put porn on for them. I have a digital photo frame that can play all the photos of me and my website while you are relaxing. I can offer clean towels and shower supplies all the time without having to beg the front desk for more. I can set up my straps and get into some LIGHT bdsm in the comfort of my home.
So what are your thoughts? Hotel or residence? Why or why not?
