Hi all, new to the hobby, and looking for advise. Does anyone worry about catching anything from bbbj? Here is my story: Recently had a wonderful experience that included a bbbj, but the next day, I felt a little discomfort downstairs. I went to see my doctor, but all tests came back negative. My doc seems to think it is all in my head...an anxiety thing or something. I don't think so, but was wondering if anyone else has had a similiar experience. I did a web search for std doctors in fairfax and found one that states in his blog that he can give "pre-exposure prophylaxis." Has anyone heard of this? Thanks.

see if the pain goes away.  OK, seriously, if this wonderful experience also involved a hell of a lot of humping, it's possible that you sprained your dick (for real, happened to me).  In extreme cases you can rupture a blood vessel and then it would hurt like hell, not "a little discomfort".

If you've been checked for stds by the standard tests, then in all likelihood i agree that you probably are anxious or just got some benign irritation at worst. I've experienced the irritation before from certain lubes.  

The next day is too soon for almost any infection. (unless she was oozing pus, and popping blisters instead of using lube.)  Allergic reaction is more likely, or as someone suggested sprained dick.

... it's certainly possible to catch something from BBBJ.   While the likelihood of getting anything severe isn't high, it's certainly possible.  If you're really worried get a PCR test, though be warned, you could already be HPV or HSV positive and not even know it (many people are subclinical and asymptomatic ... 60%+ of population by some estimates).

Thanks for the advice. My GP did standard STD tests, all negative. He also said symptoms were way too soon, and that is why he thinks just anxiety. My HSV for both 1 and 2 are negative, but he thinks it worth re-checking in 4 weeks (again, he thinks it is more for peace of mind than anything else). About the pre-exposure prophylaxis, the website I found was suggesting that with an anti-herpes med, and 2 antibiotics (single doses all), I could prevent herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and most other potential bacterial infections; just wondering what you guys think about that. Apparently that same meds that they give victims of sexual assault in the ER, but in that case after exposure. Also, apparently, pre-exposure for HIV is pointless for bbbj, because there is no documented case of anyone getting it that way? Again, I appreciate your thoughts on the matter. New to this, but really value the opinion of those of you who are experienced. I figure it is natural to be a little anxious in the beginning, just wondering how you guys dealt with it, if you were.

That cocktail has only proven useful for immunocompromised patients in other scenarios.  
Definitely not vetted for this kind of use.
Just a waste of money then.

If your worried about reducing your std risks why not switch to CBJ?

If you went on to have intercourse, with a condom of course, you were exposed to latex & lubricants.  You might indeed have an allergy.  It is very possible to have an abrasion from teeth or other rough technique, not enough lube inside the condom, improper condom fit.
