You have picked the right place to ask questions w/o getting slammed.  I assume you have not seen a provider yet, so, yes, a verifiacation site like p411 would be a good idea.  You will have to give them some personal information, but it's better than giving it to several ladies as part of their screening.

For success, search your regional board for newbie-friendly providers, p411 will be a big help there.  The bottom line is, see well-reviewed providers until you get your feet wet, so to speak.  Do your research, which means, if you do not  have VIP membership here yet, GET IT!!!  Even a month will help, without it, you cannot PM anyone or read all the details of a provider.

Feel free to ask any questions you have, on this forum, it is friendly to those of you just starting out in this wonderful world.  Once you are VIP, you can PM me if you want to ask questions in private.  I am the host of this forum, and will try to answer your questions as best that I can.

Hello everyone!

I've been thinking of starting into this hobby for some time now.. And as I've gathered from many of the threads on this forum, I will need to be verified through a website (p411) or by some other fashion. I'm looking for some honest opinions on how you would go about setting yourself up for success, now that you have more experience..  And to be honest I have and will ask many more seemingly stupid question.  I'm both eager and nervous- as you might imagine..

Thanks for your time.

to help out the newbie board. I haven't seen other moderators chip in on their boards that they were kicked out of. Anyhow, it's nice to see that you are still participating on the boards, and still giving out the good advice man! I like and respect you for that!

Take a break if you have to, or contribute if you have to. Either way, its good to see you still helping out on this board.

Thanks McD.  Admin asked me if I would host this board, I said I would.  Not sure exactly what I'm spsd to do, just know that I don't have to approve posts anymore or moderate anyone.  I guess they will let me know eventually.

This board is different from the rest, it's really the only one that actually tries to help people.  I don't mind doing that.  I hope that the vets who chimed in with answers will continue to do so when I'm not around to answer immediately.

Thanks for the fast response, luckily I've had some experience on forums before and found that reading a few days before posting can save oneself much... anyway.

You're correct in your assumption, This will be my first taste - I'd like it to be more than enjoyable.

I've gone ahead and signed up for p411 and I'm waiting on that process.. And i will be a full member here on TER shortly. Mean while (I'm sure there is a thread I can read for this) I wanted to make sure I know what to say.. And more specifically what not to say - I'd hope some of 'our' ladies would chime in with their thoughts.. While I'm by no means a dull man, I like to be ahead of the game.

Also, edict-wise, I've got an idea about steps.. 1 through 3 but I'm honestly.. hesitant about going into a situation where the outcome could be unknown to me, I'm not independently wealthy as some might be, in the same breath, I'm not a fool and I have the patience to save. My question would be, to ensure that we all enjoy the measure of expected pleasures and relief what time frame should I plan for?  I could be more blunt but where's the fun in that?  :)

Thanks,

-V
