I've seen three providers since I started hobbying this spring. Two of the three had their faces obscured in their Website photos. I was disappointed in both cases.

I understand that many providers do not want to show their faces in photos for security reasons. But my experience so far leads me to believe that many times they are hiding something.

Reviews have been no help in those cases. They were rated in the 8-10 range and many of the reviews extolled their beauty. I think many hobbyists are reluctant to accurately rate providers' looks in reviews in fear of some kind of retribution (which has been widely discussed in these forums).

My questions is, have the more experienced hobbyists found that providers who obscure their faces in photos are attractive or unattractive (with full understanding of how subjective that term is)? Am I going to have to restrict myself to providers who show their faces in their photos if I want to avoid disappointment in the future? Have you been disappointed or pleasantly surprised more times when opening the door for a provider whose face you haven't seen?

but she did turn out to be a fantastic provider nevertheless, so I have gone back to her many times.

I have also been very pleasantly surprised, so it is a two-way street.

If a pretty face is very important to you, then you should only see providers who do show their face.  I would say the majority do show their face, or show enough of it to be able to have a very good idea of what they look like.

Or only partial blurs / crops?

You should probably stick with providers who show their entire face or offer enough glimpses that you can reasonably surmise what they will look like.

As far as hobbyists "extolling beauty"...often it one or the other, body or face depending upon who is writing the review and which they deem most important.  If a woman is facially beautiful clients usually take time to note it in their reviews.

That's a good point about the reviewers separating body from face. I either need to read more carefully or simply avoid providers who don't show their face.

I should point out that "disappointed" is a relative term. Both were far from unappealing and I had a great time with both of them. It's just that, especially at my stage of hobbying, we look forward to these encounters with SUCH anticipation, that the impression you make when we open the door can be significant--positively or negatively.

I am mainly interested in those immediate, unguarded impressions that hobbyists have had, and whether more of them have been positively or negatively surprised by a provider's face.

I tend to avoid ladies with blurred faces since I'm a very superficial and shallow person, especially when I'm paying a lady for my pleasure.

I've ventured into "blurdom" a few times.  Only once was her face a significant disappointment.  Her appearance scores ranged from about 5-10.  Dummy me, I was new and focused on another picture that showed a different body part.  It turns out that she was an expert at the art of sex, a skilled photoshop artist, and an alleged self-reviewer.  She's no longer welcome on TER.  My other experiences with blurring have all been positive.

In short, a lady with plenty of consistently good reviews is likely just protecting her privacy.  Look to see who has reviewed her.  Check who else they've seem.  If they gave great looks scores to someone that you think isn't good looking, discount that reviewer as having different standards.  It takes time, but I've developed a list of people who's reviews mean more to me than others.

for the most part including face pic.

I'm kinda shallow too lol - if she's a fright it's hard to for me to have any "chemistry" ';-)

I suppose that I have been lucky then and pleasently surprised by thier facial features. I have seen a few with thier faces blurred out. Great looking bodies. But, I am one that is always checking out the legs when we meet. Can't say that I have ever been disappointed in that area either.

I just bring a jar of vaseline to rub on my glasses ... (only kidding, don't wear glasses.)

Seriously, though, I've truly never been disappointed.

I don't show my face because I need to stay anonymous.  I hear some hotels have a list of providers with their photos.  My own safety is more important than money.  Perhaps you need to stick with those who show their face, but even then it's subjective because people photograph differently and you don't know how much it's been touched up.

... honestly, are people expecting a 10/10?  Really?

Perhaps it's just time for a reality check.  Even high end models don't even truly look like what they do in the magazines.  I realize most of us doing this as a fantasy, but really now...

...and that photos lie, but my point pertains more to the discrepancy between reviews and reality than celluloid (or pixels) and reality.

If someone, a person who has presumably stood (sat, lay, orgasmed) in close proximity to a provider, writes in a review that that provider was a 10/10, then, yes, that's kinda what I'm expecting (given the presence of enough similarly scored reviews).

My question was simply to learn from the experiences of hobbyists who have done this more than I have, not to call out providers who don't show their faces in photos. If I need to adjust my expectations of this hobby according to what I learn (hopefully through the experiences of others on these boards rather than my own, which is what they are designed for), then so be it.

... and again I still say it's all subjective.  All you can do is try to get a general idea on what you have.  If you like what you see based on your general assumption, then go see the lady.  When you actually meet the lady, at that point, you'll have your own subjective idea.

This has been repeated again and again, as well as debated again and again.  The looks ratings are entirely subjective.  So, my advice is to find a reviewer(s) where your tastes match-up, and use that as a gauge.  Beyond this, you're truly going to continue to go in circles.

than it won't matter. I have done the plurred face and it's worked out fine.  However, as stated before, if looks are really important than go with an unblurred picture.

that way you can meet the ladies in person.

info.

I have been pleasantly surprised by how good the ladies I have seen have looked.

Three looked much better than their pictures, and two really could be a models.

If you are in NYC PM for some advice.

And I'm not trying to waste anyone's time. I brought this to the newbie board because I'm a newbie and I thought a sampling of opinion and experience might help as I continue to do this.

If I have to accept this as a limitation of the TER system, which seems to be what you're telling me, that's fine.

Anyway, the general consensus seems to be that my reaction did not match most of the responses. Since that's the case, I won't be disqualifying providers based on faceless photos. Depending on my future reactions, I may revisit that decision later.

Hi!
Never posted on the newbie board before, but this thread caught my attention, and I thought I would chime in:

I am a phone op for a well respected agency.  Many of our girls choose not to show their face on our site, the reason being that this is not their only source of income.  They have other jobs, sometimes high profile, and being "found out" would be catastrophic to their lives and careers.  Many of our girls are teachers, nurses, accountants, real estate agents, paralegals, students etc. And of course, many have families that don't need to know.

Recently, an independant provider in our area whose website had her face showing was found out to be the vice principal of a school in the area.  She was found out by a parent, outed, and her pix were splashed all over the evening news.  I can't imagine a lot of ladies wanting to open themselves up to that sort of experience.

I will say, however, that in most cases, our girls (all but 2) will allow us to send out face shots to clients privately.  If you have doubts, I would recommend asking for a private pic in the future.  If they refuse for any other reason than "i have reason to believe that you are my boss, father, or psycho ex" then they may be hiding something you don't actually want to see!
