Some providers will request that you shower upon arrival.  Many do not.  I would advise this however.  Unless your appt is real early in the morning, don't shave the night before, you will have stubble by the time you get to her.  Stubble does not go well with the ladies when dining at the Y.  I usually don't shave for a couple of days before a date.  That way, when I do shave, I get a really close one.  I would, if you do this, shave the lower unit area earlier in case of any bleeding that may occur, shower after shaving.

Sometimes they want you to leave the donation in the bathroom, so, there you go.  Unless she asks you to shower, just go in and wash your hands.

good reason to shower unless the drive is so long and/or the day so hot and sticky that a shower would be a good idea anyways.

Many hobbyist sneak out of the office for their dates in the afternoon, so a shower would be a nice touch.

Explaining to the Mrs. why you smell so nice after a hard day in the office is another topic, but if you belong to a gym, that could settle the matter.

Ok, I know this sounds like a silly question. But do I? I have only hobbied a few times. I always shower at home before I leave, shave the night before, etc. I'm clean cut, groomed and all that good stuff. Yet, in almost every review I read, the reviewer says that after putting the donation down, they go into the bathroom to 'freshen up' or shower. Am I missing some kind of protocol here? Just curious. I'm going to be making an appointment with a provider for this weekend and want to be sure I'm doing this right! Maybe the ladies can help me out on this one.
Thanks everyone.

A few times, a provider has offered to let me use her shower, but when I said that I had taken one before leaving, they've always been satisfied with that.

Some providers will want you to. Some will be good with your answer of, I showered just before I left to get here. Session after all day at work I shower. Session on the weekend and I showered just before leaving the house and she's OK with it I don't shower. ( Unless I want to with her and have some wet playtime.)
If she asks you twice just do it. Some agencies have it as a policy that you shower on site at the beginning of the session.  I like to incorporate showers into the session and usually have the lady shower with me.

Most important is be clean. The answer to, do you have to is, maybe. Let the provider direct this.

I almost always start a session with a shower and ask the provider to join me. Then I know we are both fresh and clean. eom

Take a shower for the lady. I have never heard of a guy suffering a serious injury from soap and water, as long as he doesn't slip and fall. Boys never seem to outgrow their aversion to getting clean. Your hands have touched all sorts of filthy stuff since you left your house. Are you going to wash your hands before touching the lady? Then why not finish the job?

This is another Q that should be in the FAQ.  Briefly, no, you don't have to shower. But it depends on many things. Does she want you to shower, do you truly need a shower, etc. There is "Fresh from the gym clean." versus "Leave the gym and walk two blocks in New York City when it's 85 degrees and you're already a mess and need a shower.") In addition to the current thread, see also:

A quick shower is just a couple of minutes out of your standard hour and if it makes your hostess more comfortable to be with you and you more comfortable, why not do it?

and appreciate that I've taken care to show up clean and fresh. Personally, I associate the kind of suspicions that would dictate a shower regardless with seedy massage parlors whose walk-in trade may run the gamut. Not with reputable escorts who cater to a clientele who can be trusted with their own hygiene.

Hey, I don't mind taking a shower. I'd just rather not do it a second time when I could be having fun. I don't like how it disrupts the flow.

Ah, but who can forget all those classic movie love scenes? The romantic couple finally fulfill the longing in their hearts and fall into an embrace and passionate kissing. Then, as they scramble to her bedroom, she asks the leading man, "Would you like to take a shower?"

As I usually have to travel for an hour to get to my providers, in the summer heat if she offers one, I usually take it as a sign I may need one even if I showered an hour before. Usually though the offer is more a freshen up, which usually means go wash your hands while I check the donation.

For the record, I do routinely wash my hands before the action heats up, since I enjoy so much putting my fingers in intimate places.

under an hour drive, I won't shower again unless it's very hot or she requests.  I ALWAYS wash my hands (short trimmed fingernails) throughly, so she'll not have concern with me putting my hands anywhere.
Some guys will do a quick wash of critical areas in the shower or out.  Washing is never wrong!
