Okay this has been bugging me for awhile.
I had scheduled an appt. with a rather highly rated Mpls. provider a few weeks ago.  I set up several days in advance and we kept a small email dialogue going up until the date.
I emailed her about two hours prior to the appt. about some details of our meeting and everything seemed on track for a rendezvous.  Then she emails me, texts, and leaves a voice message 45 minutes before the scheduled meeting time and cancels on me.  
Big drag because I don't partake in the hobby often and when I do it is pretty well planned out and a real treat.  And in this case it wasn't as if I could just call someone else up since I was on vacation and had a pretty full schedule the rest of the week.
So when providers cancel like this should a client get more than an apology and a rain-check.  Is something like a consolation prize in order to keep the goodwill?  Just like when the drive thru screws up your order they throw in a coupon for the next time should a provider through in an incentive to make up for it?

The truth is that some providers do offer extra time or a discount or something on the next meeting. But also many of them just flake completely and don't even let the client know. Just read how many posts are about NCNS. Be happy at least she let you know (in three different ways too, email, text and voice). Sometimes life happens. It also happens to them too with last minute cancellations and NCNS from the clients.

.....If I have to cancel a date, I always offer my gentleman a credit to be used towards a future date.  The credit depends on the length of our original date.  Very few have taken me up on it, and left my full gift, but all have said that was a very thoughtful gesture.

As far as your question, I agree that there should be some consolation/concession in the future, but I'm not sure what that should be.  Clearly the provider should honor her end, and last-minute cancellations are weak at best.  But to be fair, unless she knows your circumstances and how hard it is to see her, you can't really expect her to know how important the session was.

The two Minny providers started out as good experiences when we were talking.  One was paricularly good.  The other one was more terse in her exchanges, but that one managed to tell me she was coming out to NYC twice, booked with me twice, and canceled on me twice.  She offered a concession, but if she is that flaky, she could have offered me a BB anal threesome with Jenna Jameson, and she would never have to make good on it.

The other one contacted me last-minute and said she had an emergency in a different city.  Which is fine, because it was family.  But when I asked her whether the same terms would apply for the future, she gave a somewhat irritable response, along the lines of, "Well, not sure when I'm going to be in NYC again."  Then I said, "Well, what if I came out to Minny?" and that was met with, "If you come out here within some reasonable timeframe, yes."

Hello?  You two canceled on me!

I hate it when a Provider blows a rare opportunity that can't just be resheduled.  I had that happen once, she didn't have the decency to contact me, just ignored the call when I got to the call point.  Has never responded since & I would never risk another opportunity on her, not even ifit was free!  

At least you were notified.  Emergencies do happen.  I get that.  I had to cancel once...  I was half way there, on the highway...   when a local weather event turned the interstate into a parking lot.  Most cars just pulled off the road.  I tried to press on but could not.  I called her, I was stopped in the far left lane.
We rescheduled for another day, had a great time & I still see her from time to time.

to guys, and the ladies as well.  I had it happen to me recently.  Set up date the day before and she said to call her the next morning between 9 and 10 for a noon appt to get directions.  Made call, got voicemail, and she never called back.  Guess who I'm not going to try to book again.  Luckily, I had not driven anywhere yet.

Had one other flake on me way last year.  Drove better part of an hour, called for apt #, got voicemail.  Left msg, called back 15 mins. later, same thing.  Gave her one last chance after another 15 mins., since I had driven so far, but same response.  At this point, I went home.  Here's the kicker, she told a hobby buddy of mine who had recommended her to me why she flaked on me, but never told me.......  She did try to make an attempt to make it up, but I declined.

I, too, have had something similar happen a few times and every time is has been when it's been a session that has been planned way ahead of time.  I have had much better luck (and no cancellations that I can think of) with a fairly spontaneous, "hey, how soon are you available" type of call!  I understand that this narrows the gene pool but I'm the kind of guy who would rather have a surer thing!  

Now that's not to say that I haven't planned ahead (just did so this week, had an amazing session with Riley Shy yesterday but even that was set up only the day before) and sometimes you have to do so to see the girl.  For me, tho, it has to be someone I REALLY want to see before I do!

I prefer advance appointments because of my crazy life.  When I know my clients, I don't mind squeezing them in if I can...but I have NEVER cancelled on a client, whereas I've had so many NCNS I've wanted to quit at times.  I spend a lot of time not just pre-appointment, but also in my daily life, being prepared to provide a wonderful experience...then some guy thinks he has no obligation to honor the appointment he made...it's infuriating.  I think it's way worse on our end guys.  Not that I don't feel your pain...it sucks when someone cancels when you have plans set and you plan your life around those plans.

When ladies get stood up, they lose money like a guy loses a nut draining. Both lose something valuable. If you want a coupon type thing then the ladies should get a CC number to charge the guy when he cancels...just like doctors and other professions..you know to keep the goodwill alive and kicking in case he wants to re-book. And we know that is never going to happen, so we all have to roll with the punches and if we are lucky, we might get a little something when either side bails.

In fact, a while back,  I made a post on here expressing the reality that in my short hobbying career, I have found it to be pretty useless to schedule appointments more than a week in advance, because 90% of the time, the provider ends up canceling.  I, too have had more success setting things up spontaneously.

Seriously, I wouldn't expect a consolation/credit or ask for it.

While I'm on the subject of cancels, (PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE) ladies, I do NOT need to know why. I only need to know you can't make it.I've caught a few in lies and it's just not necessary.

That was really unprofessional of her. I would be pretty upset if a client did this to me. Hell, I'd be miffed if my hair stylist did it. Unless it's an emergency, or she found out something very bad about you at the last minute, 45 minutes is not enough notice to cancel an appointment. She really should have offered you some sort of compensation, like an introduction to a friend who could take her place, or a little extra time added onto a rescheduled appointment. Unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done about it. You can let people know and find out if this was just a one time blip, or a pattern of behavior.
