FBSM Providers (Full Body Sensual Massage) business model (hours worked VS income) are worked out for that level of intimacy...  Some that is all that is offered.  Sometimes, after they get to know you, particularly...  more services might be offered for an add on fee or tip.  (I don't consider this an "up sell" but rather an upgrade & the total should be about the same rate as a GFE provider offering similar services.   I made the aquaintance of one of Favs via this route.  There is more flexibility & some respectful "negociating" might be ok.  At least these would not be offended.

Full Service Providers...  GFE Providers...  have all inclusive higher rates.  Again their business model of hours worked VS income are based on that.  Many have notices that negociations are not welcome.  I would not anyway.   I really doubt that what you propose would be welcomed by a GFE provider.  It's outside her rate structure & she'll probably not be receptive.

I don't care for providers who offer services a 'la cart.  To me a kind of like buying a book serialized into magazine installments which end up costing more than the hard cover! (book)    If this is sprung after the payment is made, it's an upsell & that's where I draw the line & review accordingly.

So, addressing the OP, I think you should look for independant FBSM providers.  TER unfortunately lumps all FBSM providers under the "Massage Parlor" tab on the left.  I think indies should be separate...

I am a total newbie.  My only experience with professional providers is at a massage parlor where I learned that certain extra services were available for certain tip amounts, such as $40 for a HJ or more for "Full Service. "  Do some escorts have similarly graduated fees?

If I like an escort who will engage in all forms of sexual activity with clients for $400/hr but all I want to do is cuddle or give her a massage (with no genital contact), is there a way to negotiate a lower rate?  I understand that any explicit discussion inferring an exchange of money for sex is legally perilous and will likely cause an escort to bail immediately.  But what if I do not want sex?  Is it illegal to infer an exchange of money for massage or cuddling?  Is there a way to negotiate?

... offering massage only sessions.

If it is not mentioned in the ads and/or her website, then it's a good possibility that she does not offer massage only sessions. This is not a "set in stone" rule, but a good guage to go by.

I would avoid negotiating the providers' rates at any time. The only time the providers' rates may vary if she offers specials and that's usually found in the ads and once in a while, in the providers' website.

Two questions I would ask the proivder:

1 - Do you offer a massage only session?
2 - Do you have any specials running?

Those two questions are not negotiating types of questions, so you should be good to go on those two.

If the provider hangs up on you on either question, don't take it personally. Just move onto the next available provider.

massage only providers.

Their rates are typically lower than FS or GFE providers.

Thank you for your very helpful response!

Is it assumed that a "massage only" session with an escort may include mutual touching (non-genital) and nudity (at least topless)?

Win,

In some cases, the end of the massage may include a happy ending. Yes, that means a hand jack job to completion.

Good luck,

The rate is the rate is the rate.  Stop trying to negotiate her lower.  If you want to try to get something on the cheap, see a bodyrub/massage girl and see if she will do it for some tips above the massage rate.

I do not see a "Massage Parlor" tab....perhaps it is a VIP feature.  I did find a menu item to search for "massage parlor girls," but when I clicked it I got the "VIP upgrade information" page.

While browsing some escort reviews, however, I did stumble upon one provider who only does massage, mutual touching, and various fetish-related activities that do not include sex.  I discovered this by clicking the link to her personal website.  I may give her a try.  :)

BTW, I am interested in sex as well...but probably not during my very first session with an escort.

I just read on another site that agency escorts will meet you for a base fee and then discuss or negotiate different tips for different services.  Is this common for agency escorts and rare for independent providers?

... because I've had 2 bad experiences with agencies.

I'm not saying that all agencies are bad, just the ones that I ran into.

As a newbie... just stay away from agencies until you get your hobby experience under your belt. You're asking how much time do I need to gain experience? I don't have a good answer for that, but if pressed for an answer, I'd say no less than 6 months.

Then... if and when you are brave enough, go try the agency route. By that time you'll have enough experience to fall back on if the agency route fails.

Just my 3 cents.

Thanks for the advice.  The idea of having some preliminary communication directly with an independent provider appeals to me more than dealing with an agency.

FBSM normally includes release either a HJ or less often a BJ...  but I dn't see that the provider would object to not providing release.  To facilitate the client's arousal, there is touching inside the thighs from the rear & front, she'll likely be at least topless.   In my area, a basic FBSM is around 100-120 from an independant provider.

A "massage parlor" one pays the house a fee on entry ~60$ last time I was at one...  then anything further is negociated with the provider...  In my experience she leaves the room with the money & returns to give services.   Services can range more...  up to FS...  each MP is different.

A theraputic massage by a LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist), normally you remain draped or even BVDs on (your option).  The LMT keeps fully dressed & there is no sexual touching...  in fact it is a violation of their medical professional standards to remove clothing or sexual touching.   In my area, a LMT hour is about 60$.

I think a FBSM is a great way to get started, as I did.

Thanks.  I'm not too interested in the LMT route, since I like giving massage more than receiving.  :)

There's not much useful information in that TER link.  Is there a better review site for FBSM providers?

I would never do this for a guy I have not met with for sure, but I don't exactly charge my regulars the local rate every time without at least giving them some OTC time. If all you want is the touch, FBSM is more your thing, and usually runs under 200. Don't go to an all inclusive GFE provider and try to negotiate her rate...just find an FBSM provider.

I have a better understanding now.  If I do not want full service, it seems wise not to seek a FS provider. :)

L1 is a hand job, L2 is a blowjob, and L3 is Full Service. Many massage providers offer fs as well, but no gfe or msog. So, you can still find a massage provider for a lower rate who will in fact fk you at the end, for less than what you would pay for a full on gfe.

I had no idea this hobby involved so many codes and acronyms!  I like affection, but not really dfk or BB activities (in my profession, BB = Big Blind ;)) so a gfe provider may not be the best choice for me.   Thanks!
