They are probably all about the same

Just a dumb question from a newbie. I obviously have never met with a provider before but really want to. I am interested in quite a few that need verification which is understandable. My question is if a pay to get verified and give my information away to sites like date check, p411 or rs2k does my information become available to anyone who wants it? I'm just worried about my current and future employers finding out that I have been verified through these websites. Thanks!

Also, P411 unlike many other sites is based in Canada, where this is pretty much legal, or at least the screening part is. You are verified, then your info is gone. There is no way to "trace" anything. You are given an ID to give to a provider, and that's it. She knows your first name, but not your last or anything else about your life.

Just curious if I'm just as safe using rs2k as I would be with p411

Date check never asked me for any personal information whatsoever.  They just asked the providers I have seen if I was okay.  When the providers answered that I was okay, I became verified.  Because of the way they do it, there is no reason for them to have my real name or work place information in the first place.  I paid them for a lifetime membership with a money order, and they have no reason to bother me with such matters anymore.

If they ever get breached and the information they have on me ever gets disseminated to third parties, then the only thing anybody will ever know is that my name is maxwell44.  Which is completely useless information.

P411 on the other hand demands your real name and workplace info in order to verify you... they may be completely trustworthy or whatever, but in my opinion they are even more trustworthy if they never heard of me in the first place.

You can get on P411 with two P411 provider OKs and no personal info.

It's not required unless you have no references, and not any provider will be accepted as credible on P411.

I was only pointing out that Maxwell was incorrect on his date-check vs p411 comparison. Both services will let you on with approved provider references and no personal info, but both sites will need personal info if you have no (member) provider references, which is the case for the OP and any newbie.

but I am not sure where RS2K's or date-check's servers are. As London said, P411's servers are in Canada so even if they did keep your personal info (which they say they don't once you are verified) it would be pretty difficult for LE to subpoena anything.

RS2K is popular in the Chicago area. If that is your home base you might consider them. Otherwise I would go with P411.

P411's owner, Gina, and her people are pretty good at working with guys and verification if they have no provider referral.

I joined P411.  But when I read the websites of many providers, esp. the high-end, they emphatically say: "You will be required to show your ID."   I don't get it -- doesn't that defeat a large purpose of P411? First, last name, what you look like and some Google will likely identify you via facebook, linked-in, etc.
thx.
