I contacted one independent provider about two days ago directly through email, and haven't heard back from her, so I scheduled through with another provider through an agency website this time. Still haven't heard back from them, but it has been only few hours. My question, how long do providers usually take to respond to an email/schedule given that I'm a first timer.
I have received responses anywhere from 30 seconds after the request to 3 months after the requested appointment time. Everyone has their own set of guidelines and limits, but I think that generally two days is plenty to wait for a response. After that its time to look somewhere else.
What is the best way to contact a provider, by PM on TER, her contact form, or by phone.
With some of the high profile busts, such as the one in Arizona I would prefer to have a provider look at my white list reference instead of giving her my name, business address, 2 references etc. Also don't want to have to keep using the same references. As a newbie I don't have too many. Any advice?
Depends on what / where i am doing .. but usually i check my e mails at least every couple of hours. Of course a lot depends on WHAT you write in the e mail
I think this process seems longer when you are a newbie. You keep wondering why the lady doesn't respond and I'm sure after 2 days you are thinking what is wrong with this lady??
Just to give a clue, some ladies don't check their emails all that much as if they are busy with regulars they don't have to. So bottom line you are the last in line if a newbie. If business turns slow then she will be more apt to check her emails, voice messages...etc.
As I posted above my record was a lady contacted me by my cell phone 2 months after I had emailed and called her. She had been touring, then surgery and then involved in a wreck. Needless to say these ladies do have normal lives outside the business so anything might keep her from getting back to you.
My best advice is to move on after no contact for at least two days. Heck if she does get back with you way later then you can decide if you would like to still see her.
It's THAT important to me! If you take the time to want to send me an email to see me, you bet damn well, i'm going to check my emails and get back to you the same day! It's a courtsey to you for considering me as someone you want to spend time and money on! Jay
Sometimes that is good enough for them. Keep in mind that that only works if the provider logs on here regularly and checks her private mail. You can also email or call her and let her know you PM'ed her; it's a good cross check.
Why would the thing in Arizona affect your willingness to give references? References do not put your personal information in a data-base held by a multi-state many-felony drug and weapons violating agency.
As a provider who was given your white list in lieu of a reference, I would simply contact the white list ladies directly as they are not the same thing. However for you, I don't understand how you see your white list listings as different from a reference?
I may be showing by newbie colors 'cause I did not realize you would then have to contact the people on my whitelist. I had thought that being whitelisted by several providers would have been enough of a check. Guess you can never be too careful.
...but life gets in the way sometimes. I don't have access to my provider email account most of the day, and if I need to screen someone before replying, that can add to the time it takes.
I try not to let more than 24-48 hours pass before replying, even if it's just a note to let someone know I'm still finishing up screening, and if at all possible I will reply much sooner.
Being white-listed is great, having an active board handle with history is great... I would never accept just those two things for screening. First, I need to know that you are *you* and that your account is not really six male friends sharing a handle and using it to bypass screening. Then I want to hear any "yes he is great BUT's" that may come up. Some fellows are perfectly nice... BUT... Do you constantly reschedule at the last minute? Does your face hair leave thigh rash? Halitosis? Etc. These things you will not show on a white list.
And the real bottom line for me is, I want to know that one of those ladies actually knows who you are. If you go all Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde and hurt me... I want a name for my police report.
Mr. Newbie, please never underestimate the risk us ladies are taking.
