I've recently been seeing escorting websites that offer sugar baby arrangements. My question is, what would be the benefit of a sugar baby arrangement? I tried to think of it from a provider point of view and a client point of view and I can't seem to figure out how this would work better than straight escorting. Isn't it the same thing or do I have it all wrong?

From what I can gather, the big plus is a less expensive date, and for those who like simplicity and regularity, you know the date is guaranteed, etc.

There is also, for those that want it, the promise of more intimacy and socializing.

The minus is that it isn't exactly NSA, as some level of commitment is needed to make it work.  That equates to baggage and we all know where that can lead.  Some have commented that the gals available aren't quite on par with providers in the looks or abilities departments.

I'd be wary myself.  I did a SD arrangement with a gal about 10 years ago.  Now, we're married.

...it's just takes escorting and centers it on one provider only, so its more like a mistress/ girlfriend scenario since my focus was exclusively on just her. It may be cheaper per hour but I think the total cost may be the same or more.   The gal expects you to fund her needs regularly.  So both a physical & financial commitment.

It is knowing that every month or what ever time period is agreed upon by the  parties involved that you will receive a set figure that usually exceeds say 7,500 or it could be if you are in school they take care of major bills for you.  Therefore there are certain things in your life that you know that are addressed on a monthly basis.   A lot of your colleagues who happen to be continuing their education do this during the course of their matriculation.  Also it is an arrangement that allows women who happen to be in this industry to continue to charge what they charge and they can work less knowing that they will get a set figure once every so often.  
  You can also get other items such as cars or houses depending on whom you land and what you can negotiate.  Primarily it is having a better customer that buys more of your commodities and takes care of you without the typical requirements of being a full time boyfriend or spouse.

I never looked at it that way. I could totally relate with wanting to go back to school and have that kind of help. That is a lot of money. But I can very well see how that could be tempting.

I'd like to first warn you that Dupy's numbers are purely arbitrary and there are a LOT of SB's who don't make anywhere close to that kind of money.

I will say that from the woman's perspective, what you lose in autonomy and independence is partially made up for in a sense of security in that you have a set amount you can bank on. I will further caution you however that just like a BF or client, your Sugar Daddy can dump you without notice, so don't become too dependent on any one man.

I hate to say it, but if you don't find a SD the old fashioned way and go looking on the internet, that's what you're going to get. It's been discussed a lot on here and other sites. I'm sure someone will try to disagree, but it would be pretty difficult to if you do a search on the various boards. Here, elsewhere... doesn't matter.

The legality, plus the consistency.

When I have had the pleasure of having sugar babies, I would pay a regular monthly "allowance" which is pretty standard practice in the SD / SB community.

In return for the allowance, I would get a certain amount of her time. Typically a date every other week ... sometimes more often than that, sometimes less often. As part of that arrangement, sex is usually a requirement but occasionally it's not even part of the deal! (see: Anna Nicole Smith)

Just relaying my own experience, the girls were basically paid by me for sex, and it was perfectly legal. It is like a relationship and it is more personal than the usual hobbyinst/provider thing. You call one another by your real names and you have access to one another on a personal level the same way a boyfriend/girlfriend would. Unless the daddy is married -- then it gets a little more complicated, but essentially her silence and discretion are part of the expectations he needs to lay out on his end.

In many ways, I think that traditional relationships could borrow a lot of good ideas from the SB/SD thing, because there is just this absolute blunt honesty, all cards on the table dynamic to it. I communicate what I expect in terms of companionship. She expresses her expectations in terms of finance. Everyone's expectations are out there and everyone knows and understands the game. Many vanilla relationships have the exact same sets of expectations, but no one actually talks about it so bluntly. They prefer to pretend the relationship isn't just about sex and money. When both know deep down that it is, if they were being honest with themselves.

That last paragraph couldn't be more correct. I totally agree with you. If we were all honest about our needs and how we would like them met....things would be so much better.

I've been playing in the sugar bowl for a while and although it's taken me a bit to figure out how to find exactly what I'm looking for, I now have two, great sugar babies. Although I've seen a lot of providers, most of which have been good, the biggest difference to me is that my SBs really, really like sex. Since the money is about the same (I pay per visit), I would rather spend it on someone who genuinely enjoys our time together.  

From their perspective, I would think that one advantage would be that they can be choosier about who they spend their time with.
