I figured there was an initial screening of my first few messages before I was granted the ability to post messages immediately. Is there a time period, or is it based on the number of posts you make? Right now, I get a message stating that my post is subject to review by an administrator and it could take up to a day before it gets posted.
I've been on since about September and only posting every so often. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance.
There are no set guidelines. Some moderators will change you to unmoderated status quicker than others.
The one rule that I've made for myself is that I don't unmoderate anyone who posts to this board no matter how often they post. I feel most people post more often on the regional board that is closest to them. Because of this, I feel that the regional board moderators are in a better position to know a poster's history and are therefore better equipped to determine whether the poster should be unmoderated.
One piece of advice that I would give you is to try to post more often. When I unmoderate people on my regional boards, it usually happens after I begin to recognize their username. Moderators have no way to track how many posts that you've made. However, when we see your username often enough, we do notice it.
As a practical example, I unmoderated a number of posters in Boston during the baseball playoffs. Many infrequent posters who were also Yankee haters began posting more often. Beyond sports, they began addressing other topics. Many were unmoderated in less than two weeks.
