I'm coming from an agency, and therefore pretty green to running my own verifications.
But I've had a few recent negative experiences, so I'm trying to beef up my screening.
Someone sent me a very articulate and charming email wanting to meet at his 5 star hotel and then attend an industry dinner.
He gave me his phone number, full name, and RS2k info, and said that he could put me in touch with an agent at an escort agency who he has been calling for years. I asked for a website where I could link her email to the site, and he said that she's very private and old school and doesn't have a site.
I know that these agencies exist, as I've worked for one myself, but I'm not really sure why such an agent would be willing to speak to an independent escort about this guy's validity.
RS2k got back to me and confirmed his membership, but I'm not sure that that means he's safe...does it?
He says that he doesn't have P411 or a TER presence...
Any tips on alternate verification methods?

I'm no expert in that either but just because someone doesn't have any negative background info come up on rs2k doesn't mean there is not another side to this man .Instincts are everything so if something is uncomfortable than don't proceed. You can do a Google, linked in search just to see if he is who he says he is and does what he says he does for a living.Other than that I am not an expert on screening either. But you could also request one or two provider references.

When conducting a verification on a new date... my first go to are providers, e-mail 2 of the providers that he has seen in the past and ask them if he's okay to book. As mention above, also do a google search with his full name and number, look him up on Linken. At least you'll know he's not a cop, as far as the agency is concern I've heard of agencies like that before. Everything is word of mouth with them, so I don't take an agency like that seriously. What does a reference from someone who doesn't have an email or website matter? For all you know that could be his sister or friend saying he's good to book.
I would go with my gut, honestly, if you decide to see him then just let someone know the time he's going in and the time he's suppose to come out. At least that way if anything were to happen someone would know where you are. If worse comes to worse (this is what I normally do) when I've been in those situation I always tell them to send me a picture via text or e-mail of their ID, another way for him to know that you know who he is and if anything were to happen someone has a record of it. Someone that truly wants to see you will comply with your screening process.
Hope that helps

You are SPOT on, IMHO... My preference is in this order: 1) Provider references; if not, then 2) gut feeling + pic of ID + Google it/LinkedIn... One note, though. Even if their references check out, follow your gut. All my opinion, of course.
Just last week I had a situation where he checked out but when I saw him, he was aggressive with me. I am very, very sensitive to that kind of behavior so it didn't turn out to be a fun date, unfortunately. Had I followed my gut instinct, I could have avoided that negative experience.

Now I will put in the disclaimer that I know very little about escort screening, but I do know a little bit about linkedin. I would be careful to make sure you are not logged in under your real name when you search for his profile. I'm pretty sure that if you search a profile, you might show up as "people you may know" on that person's profile. They can also see who has viewed their profile if they have a premium account.
better response.
...she only has one review.
...I'm not familiar with rs2k but don't they have some system where you can see more about him than just he's a member.
They'll tell you that yes, he's a member and the date he joined. Most of the time, that's all.
Sometimes, though, there will be notes submitted by other providers. This is generally NCNS, Cancelled at the last minute, shorted $, or other such things.
But occasionally a provider LIKED the client enough to send in a note, and so you'll see, "Very nice guy."
If anyone has any questions regarding RS2K, please contact me. Always happy to help!

RS2K has all his information on file including his ID. You should ask to see his ID when you meet but as far as I can tell from the ladies I've met through the site it's one of the safest systems out there. You can easily send the information to a trusted friend to hold before your date. If something happened they could use RS2K to identify the guy.
You should probably contact a provider that uses RS2K regularly.
You could contact Debbienoonergirl I know she does,
Posting this on the Chicago board is better then here. The site is "big" there.
You are better off using these sources because they will give you a larger pool of potential clients. Most guys will not give you the personal information that they give P411, so those Google and LinkedIn searches will not resolve your concerns.
Thank you all so much for the thoughtful tips!
I've decided to pass on this client. Sweet as he seems, there were just too many excuses regarding each option I offered (many gleaned here).
Again, I really appreciate the time everyone took to chime in. xxx
