I notice that occasionally on the boards someone will post that someone is using an alias. How does one know this? Also, this may be in the answer to the first question....how do you look up someones username?
If it is an alias, when you click on the post and look at the username, it will NOT have an envelope next to it. You can't send a PM to an alias. To find a username, go to reviews->search by reviewers and type in a name.
2) The "search by reviewers" feature is only available to VIP's.
3) If you are asking how can you lookup someone's real username when they post using an alias, the simple answer is that you don't. Only the board's moderator, and the powers that be at TER can see the "real" name behind an alias.
what if the username you are checking on is a provider? She won't be listed as a reviewer! Is her usename listed somewhere? The reason I ask is I saw a female posting and was impressed with her verbage and wanted to know more about her without contacting her.
Thanks for enlightening me about the envelope, and yes, I am a VIP
Do a search and use one of the contacts that you know belong to her: email, phone.... this will bring up her profile and you can go from there-
Also, if a post id made by a provider who is registered w/ TER there should be a link next to her name with the words (see my TER reviews)this will take you to her profile.
on the different boards. Unfortunately, there is no way to identify them in order to hook up. They obviously choose to do this so that their expression of opinion on the discussion board aspect of this site does not interfere with their business. I respect that, and, although I would dearly love to hook up with AWomanLikeNoOther or Lilly, just to name two, I realize that I'll never know who they are.
So, if you don't see the envelope beside the name, and you believe it is a provider doing the posting, just realize that you won't be able to find out who it it. If there is an envelope, then either send a PM or post a reply to her post asking for a link or clue to her reviews or website. Sometimes the TER handle does not match the work name the provider uses, and unless she is linked to her reviews, she will have to manually (or womanually) place her info in the post - sometimes they forget to do that.
Thanks. Got it and thanks to all of you for your help. Too bad the providers that post on these forums don't use the same name as their review names but I also respect their reasons. Could be losing business though!!! Wonder if any females alias usernames on here are really guys??? Could be!!
