Guys have been fired from high 6 figure jobs for this sort of thing.  About all company's monotor their equipment & networks.  It's just not worth it.   IT may wink at a certain amount of improper use but if you get away with it reset & sin no more!
Use a personal smart phone or hobby phone or a cheap used laptop & wireless adaptor.  Hobby phones are kept shut off & hidden when not in use.

Greetings, I'm a brand new VIP (finally made it somewhere in life I guess), and I have been using my employer provided iPhone to browse the site.  Am I taking a risk in doing so?  How should I conceptualize the risks?

I work for a large multinational US based corporation.  I'm in upper (not yet executive) management, and it would be a disaster if something went wrong.  But, TER is a large public site that appears to only link to truly explicit images.  Plus, I'm not behind my company's firewall when browsing, and the data provider is AT&T, not my company.  My biggest concern is the IT department forces us to use Good.com on our devices. and there is some Draconian language in the Good application about data collection and sharing with my employer.

An obvious seemingly risk free solution would be to purchase private devises for any "hobby" uses.  But, I can't think of a way of explaining the need for such devises to my wife, if you know what I mean.

Thoughts/advice on using TER on employer provided smart-phones?

Buy a hobby phone. You can buy one from Walmart for as cheap as $19.99 or if you want something more advanced w/o contract you can get Virgin Mobile.

Regardless of what you do and your status in the company, its always good to have a hobby phone for variety of reasons...

If you have wife/SO, you can keep it at work or hidden in car, or some other place you have more privacy....

You will appreciate it more with little more experience in the hobby.

they may not know anything about business, but they sure know a lot about computers. I would recommend you NEVER use any corporate "anything" to access TER or any other hobby site or escort mall.

Search this board for "hobby phone" threads.  There's plenty of them on this board, even how to purchase one,  where to hide a hobby phone and excuses just in case the SO finds it.

... NOW!!

The company provided you with that phone for the express purpose of using it for company related business, NOT going on review websites such as TER or doing porn. If you are in a management position, you should KNOW better to compromise yourself like that.

Since you have already have done this... I'd recommend that you go to the IT guys and ask them to reset your phone. Use the excuse that one of your friends was using your company's phone and you think the phone may have been compromised. The IT guys will either issue you a new phone or reset the phone to the defaults, thereby, erasing your "adventures" on that phone.

Let's see... the risks of getting a new smartphone on separate plan is far less risky than losing your job. Worried about your wife? Just get a smartphone under YOUR name only. Yea, you'll have to pay extra money for another phone... but ask yourself this question. Which is better for me? Getting a 2nd phone or losing my job?

I'll leave the rest up to you.

Wow, I don't know if I've done anything this stupid and irresponsible for a long time.  Stupid me.  Have to learn to trust my instincts a bit more.  Thanks to each of you for making the answer very clear.

I am now resetting my iPhone, clearing all data and settings.  I don't trust my IT department enough to hand them my phone.  So, time to just clear it, and start fresh, and if anything happens, tell them I thought it was compromised by my brother in law, and thus the clearing it.

On to safe fun, and off to buy my hobby phone!

I would not give your IT department the phone with some phony excuse that you think a friend "compromised" it.  That's just inviting problems.

Don't think IT people aren't nosy by nature.

This is rather common sense. If the company gave you the phone, they also pay the bill I assume? Hello...that means they have access to the ins and outs of what that phone is used for. Buy a phone for yourself.

Chances are good that they can find your browsing history very easily.  And a company is well within its rights to put spyware on its own devices.

Stop being so cheap.  If you want to hobby without worry, then get a separate device and plan that YOU pay for.

It never ceases to amaze me how cheap people can be in this hobby.  You can spend $300 on pussy but but you can't spend a few bucks on VIP and a burner phone.

Like others have said prepay phone is the way to go.  On thing to remember is that your employer may not say anything today, tomorrow, or even next year but I will bet that somewhere you agreed to terms that would exclude viewing this site.  My employer has a very liberal internet use but the last line is " the user will not use company devices for illegal actions."  The employer is shielding themselves from liability.

Don't forget in the future that could be used as evidence to make you expendable also.

I ... highly suggest you not do that.

Just wanted to say thanks again for all of the responses.

I was very careful to always use private browsing, and to reset my phone after use.  Again, the reason I avoided getting a private devise was that I know a friend whose wife found his private devise, and it almost ended their marriage.  So, I just didn't want to take that risk.  It was never about the money.

But, these are all just excuses for being stupid.  The fact remains I was stupid.  Stupid enough that I'd kinda like to remove this post, as it's frankly embarrassing.

Thanks again, be safe, and have a great time out there!
