A way long time ago before I was married I got three STDs from around 6 civies I had been dating over a period of 3-4 years.  That tells me something.

There seems to be a lot of questions about the risks of std's from bbbj and the like.  Even the ones who said they have had a scare and are getting tested never seem to report on the result.  Has anyone caught an STD while hobbying? I always cover my tracks as best I can from the SO but coming home with something would be hard to explain.

Never an STD, but whenever I indulge in enthusiastic DATY, i do get a throat infection. This throat infection has happened 3 times and I have corelated it with deep daty. If I do limited DATY, I do not seem to get affected. The defnition of STD is that the disease should be transmitted sexually after being infected. Since I could not transmit the throat infection around sexually, I would not call it STD.

Ugh.  I saw my first provider last thursday, and there was DATY.  On Sunday I got what the doctor thinks looks like strep, but the basic strep screen came back negative.  I'm still recovering

In generaL, those involved in the hobby are more careful than civies as far as protection. Just my two cents.
