Sometimes a new provider will have a mentor

And I don't mean newbies. I see ads on regional boards for providers and when I go to their website it's pretty obvious they're not newbies. Do they sign on to TER with a new ID, post an ad and just never come back?  We are all told over and over to only see well reviewed TER providers.  I saw an ad on my regional board this week for a very lovely lady who I would like to see. And her website looks very legitimate but she has no reviews on TER.  So I won't set up an appointment.

Just seems a little odd and I was wondering what others think.

Thanks gang.

The other answer would be that they request that they not be reviewed, but for them to advertize on TER is a bit weird.

They couldn't post an ad if they were delisted, so that's not the answer either.

So, that is a mystery, unless they are fairly new to the hobby.

Have you actually gone and tried to find their reviews using the filters on the "search reviews" page?  Maybe they just haven't asked TER to link their reviews to their posts yet.

Also, you can ask the gal if she has reviews elsewhere, if you really want to pursue her.

Her GF could be a provider, and the GF is teaching her about the biz, so it appears the provider knows what she's doing, even though she's new. I have run into situations like that.  You just never know, so you might want to move on, until this provider has some reviews.

I wasn't necessarily asking about that one provider as I've seen it a few times. But I Googled her phone number and found her TER profile that way. So you were right...she hasn't linked her profile to her id. Which begs the question why wouldn't she? Seems like she'd be missing out on business if some hobbyist just pass because they don't see "See my reviews"?

Oh well...if I make an appt with her, I'll mention it. Maybe she just doesn't know she needs to do that.

Thanks.

She probably has no idea that she has to contact administration and request to have her TER ID and reviews linked together... when I first joined in 09, I had reviews dating back to 07 or 08 and had no idea, lol. Just give her a heads up:)

I've been around for 4 1/2 years on other sites but TER was always confusing to me. When I first joined, I had no idea how to link my reviews to my profile. So sometimes a provider may not be new to the business but maybe just new to TER. Also some providers may not have any reviews due to privacy reasons but she may have referrals/references. It doesn't hurt to ask if you're really interested in the girl ;)

And there is certainly no harm in emailing or PMng a provider to ask what is her TER number so that you can read her reviews.
