Sending PM to an alias

In the past, I could send a PM to an alias. I just noticed (June 2020) that I could NOT send a PM to an alias: there is no envelope next to their name on an OP; there is no "Send Mail" in their handle drop down.
.
Is this a deliberate policy change by TER or is there a glitch in the system?  Will TER fix it?
.
Thanks!

You have to click on the title of a post by the alias so that the post is displayed at the top of the screen. Then click on the alias to send a PM.

I don’t know if that behavior changed this month or not. It may have been this way for awhile and I never noticed it.

There has never been an envelope next to an alias. That’s how you know it’s an alias. To send a PM to an alias you click on the alias and the PM box opens, or you type in the alias name in the “to” field in a new PM. That’s how it’s always been.

..."It can be done, but it’s not obvious."  When the post opens, click "Steve_Trevor."  You will be taken to your PM Compose with the alias 'Steve_Trevor' already in the 'To" box.

The subject line will say "It can be done, but it’s not obvious" - the same subject line as in his post.  If you're PM'ing him about that particular post, leave the subject line of your PM as is.  If you want to talk to him about something else, delete the subject line and change it to what you want to PM him about.
