"Searching" advice on advertising

Hello all.
Tried to do a "search " on the Orange County Regional Board and Newbie Board, using "advertising" in the "search for" box, and "day range" 30 to 300.  Both searches came up with nil.
Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but I'm confused by the directions on how to accomplish this. Anyone who knows me, knows the 'net and computers are NOT my forte. Just putting up a website using one of the "cookie-cutter" services, undoubtedly took 10 yrs off my life expectancy.Lol.  Once a dork, always a dork, I suppose.
I'm specifically looking for suggestions on where to advertise for the Orange County area. A lovely member here, once suggested a site(that I'm not sure is kosher to mention on TER), but also pointed out it is probably best for L.A. After seeing it, I tend to agree.
So, if any savvy members of the "cool crowd" would be kind enough to take pity and advise me, I shall sing your praises(BCD, of course)!
                                Regards,
                                             Desi-Looney-Tunes ;-)

And you're correct.
We're not allowed to mention other competing review sites on here.

You can advertise on the ad boards if you're visiting or hosting in that city.
Be sure to read the ad posting guidelines.
