Living on the edge of the Appalachians as I do, my experience hasn't agreed with the consensus here that well reviewed providers who don't screen are practically unheard of. Around here, it's a tossup whether or not she'll require references. Perhaps folks here are more trusting. *cue banjo* Well I'm sure not, but I've learned that it doesn't always have to be a cause for concern. For a newbie it can be an opportunity. If you're in a big city, it may be a different story
So I've booked my first appt and I've got to call to conirm in a few hours, however, I'm concerned with the lack of screening on the providers part when compared with the research I've done here. Well reviewed and in the business for about 3 years, it is clear she started with an agency and turned independent. All she wants from me is to bring my identification. Another flag is she uses her home as incall. My question is how does this compare with other hobbyists experience with being screened (or not) and is my feeling of caution warranted? I did inquire about my LE risk and the provider said the best she can do for me are the reviews here. Thanks for helping a newbie
If she is well-reviewed, she is probably ok, although I'm kinda surprised that all she wants for screening is your ID, especially since you are a newbie and she is your first provider. Many providers use their homes for incall, that should not be a problem. I have seen several at their homes.
If you are still unsure about going thru with this appt., you might want to cancel (with proper time for her to fill your time slot), and find someone that screens more thoroughly.
