I'm no veteran (not by a long shot), but what they will tell you is to stick to the well reviewed girls and to do your homework.

Play safe!

So I just read the post about the scams.  How does a first timer proceed?

you should check out the F&Q section and the help section on this site. That should clear up a lot of questions.

P.S. searching the forums helps also...this question has been answered numerous times

TER is my friend.  I have been burned on performance from Agency girls that they say are GFE or Greek friendly or whatever.  I now have a policy that I never see a provider that doesn't have stellar reviews.  There are too many providers with reviews to 'take one for the team'  and travel in uncharted waters.   IMHO

you figure things out.

If you ever respond to an ad and get a reply directing you to a website asking for your name, home address, credit cards, expiration date etc, run the other way fast.

will be much better.  If you don't know the term "well-reviewed" do a search here.
