So I'm new to the hobby. Well I guess not new yet because I haven't yet seen a provider (a little nervous).

Has anyone used RS2K to bet pre screened and is it worth it?

So is P411 and Date-Check. RS2K is popular in the midwest. Other sites are more popular in other areas. You need to see which one is more popular in the area you want to hobby in (or join all of them). Do a search on this board for for "RS2K," "RS2000," "P411," "screening," "verification, " etc. You will find numerous threads on the topic.

Even if you join one of the sites, you will still have to look for newbie friendly providers, until you get a few "OKs" on one fo the sites.

RS2K is one of the three big ones.  It's popular in the midwest, not so much used where I am, Florida.  Check into DateCheck and Preferred411.  See which is most popular in your area.  Doesn't hurt to belong to more than one until you get established.

RS2K, Date-Check & Preferred411 are all great sites for identifying providers you think you'd like to see. Then, check out their reviews on TER. It's a good habit to get into. These sites all have good screening tools for the gals. Makes the entire process easier to cope with.
As natashalynne points out, RS2K is best in Chicago. I've found Preferred411 to be my best bet here in NY. I'm not sure, but believe Date-Check is best on the West Coast.
CityVibe is also helpful, but doesn't have a screening capability for the ladies.

I don't get, as i'm also a newbie and debating p411 v.rs2k, why rs2k makes you give out your full name + city/state

isn't that archaic in a digital age???

curious your thoughts ...that's enough for someone to get extra info on person they might not want out there

RS2K works!! I mean seriously, there is no damn link to actually place an ad or get a listing. I went to the blog and all it has are rates but no link to fill in your info. I sent an email to them with no response. Do they want money or not?

Then you can access the forms et cetera on RS2K.


For the newbie gentleman, most  ladies, especially the higher end ladies are going to require this same info that RS2K requires anyways.  

However, RS2K and P411 are both very very good.

Yet isn't the whole point of using a verification site simply a twofold reason:
1) Establish yourself as a "legit" customer...having cleared there checks
2) Using a reputable 3rd party so that your personal info is not distributed to every single person you meet with but rather a central point -your verification site be it rs2k, p411, or whatever else

My mind likes to break it down simply to its core.

example....p411:  they verify you...check your background...then give you a unique way to ID yourself
from my call a first name...day of birth...some other number
So:
John Q. Public
January 1, 1900
anywhere, IL
theoretically could be: John1(+some number let's say:  4567)
retaining your privacy as a customer...yet giving comfort to the provider that you are legit
Customer wants to make an appt i presume gives:  John14567
Provider: verifies
both are happy

--->I logically can get this in this digital age as what can someone do with john1(+some number)

The CON:  from what i gather not as used in chicago where rs2k rules the roost from what i read

example 2...rs2k:  same situation

customer seeks appt:  has to tell

anywhere, IL
provider verifies...yet provider has alot of info they can do more with

so my question is this a risk

---i believe as a newbie i have carefully analyzed this...and believe my point to be a totally valid question/concern in this digital age where info is at our fingertips---

catch 22:  rs2k longer more reputable in chicago but come on with archaic method
p411:  modern method to ID oneself but not as known or even rejected by some over rs2k

that's all i said my point

i want/prefer to join rs2k....yet that issue really causes hesitation...
