I just received an email back from Pretty Maids in response to an email I sent inquiring about one of their girls for a vegas outcall.  He said I would be all set assuming the "background" check went ok.
When I emailed him to ask what that was he said it was all done via email.
Can anybody tell me the deal?
How could he do a reference check through my yahoo email account that I set up anonomously (for obvious reasons)?

software ..... this way they can make somewhat sure that your not LE... my question for you is ... since you know about TER why not do some simple research yourself and find an indie that you like instead of using pretty maids and paying the additional 100 bucks for his service ... now maybe pm has just the right girl for you and you've search the indies with no luck .... just curious ....

Thanks for the feedback.
Just to clarify, the girl I inquired about from Pretty Maids was Austin. She had some great TER reviews, but they were all dated March 2005.
I assume that's ok since she just started.
I was going to trust the reviews since they were posted here.
Is that the right assumption?

There are sites out there that will give a person's name from a cell phone number. From the name you can get there address and do a background check. Go to http://www.infospace.com and try it out.

Folks cell phone numbers are no longer safe anymore.

But you cannot set up any account that is completely anomymous. Anyone skilled enough and determined enough can track any account that you set up back to you. If you want an adrenaline rush, set your browser up to display each site that it records as you click about the Internet.
Now that I have had the bit of fun above, Mr.Info is more than likely right, the guy will get back to you asking for information from you that he can verify over the Web. If you don't give it, the smart ones will not grant you an appointment.

although few people have the self-discipline, or the need and inclination, to do it.

If one sets up a free email account (hotmail, yahoo, etc.) giving phony identity info AND

accesses that account ONLY from anonymous IP addresses such as internet cafes, libraries, or free anonymous WIFI hot zones* (never, ever from home or office computer) AND

never, ever uses that account in connection with a site which has true indentity info or credit card info, THEN

the only way of identifying the person behind the account is to catch them logged into that account at an anonymous computer in real time. This would require very sophisticated and expensive LE resources and surveillance - resources reserved for things far more important to LE than this hobby of ours.

Of course, most users of anonymous email accounts are not that careful, and generally speaking, stilltryin is right - there are footprints out there which can lead to the user's identity.

*skip the WIFI hot zones, though, if using a laptop which is identifiable to you - WIFI owner might keep MAC address logs.

I was really paranoid about before starting the hobby. That's why I got one of those "pay as you go" phones. Not contract, no information, and it ready to go out of the box. All you have to do is get a refill card. It's only $0.20 a minute. Not too bad.

This is the ONLY way to go if descretion is 100% necessary.  No paper trail ever.

when you ask if Yahoo and Hotmail keep deleted email accounts, I presume you're asking if someone would be able to read your email after you had deleted a  Yahoo/hotmail account.

I would expect that Yahoo and Hotmail would be able to find an old email account and come up with records of your messages if they got a law enforcement warrant. Like all large websites, they back up to tape and if they needed to help catch a criminal who was using their system to fake an ID, they'd do it.

But if you mean, would your wife's private investigator be able to get access to your Yahoo email account, well, this ain't the movies. He's not going to be able to walk into Yahoo's offices and charm his way past the receptionist so he can peek over someone's shoulder.

I have been using it for 4 months and have no issues. There is an option on the phone that says "Send my caller identity", which obviously send my number via CallerID.

You can to T-Mobile, Cingular, Virgin, Boost Mobile, and 7-11 stores. I went to 7-11 I get mine. Initally, I went to AT&T (before cingular bought them) looking for the Gophone and FreetoGo phones. The FreetoGo was on the old network (non-GSM) and was no contracts, no activation, etc. The Gophone was on GSM but required a CC to activate. I asked for the FreetoGO and they said they don't sell it anymore, so I said forget it.

I went to 7-11 and saw some phones. One was Speakout, a 7-11 service. After doing some research, I found out that not only do they offer the cheapest service (with no hidden fees, just $0.20/min), but they are actually running off of cingular's GSM service (thus they are carried on AT&T GSM net too). It funny that they are cheaper than cingular when it basically cingular.

Hope that helps
