both reasons

if you dont have lady references, you could be either LE Or a serial killer... try and look at things from a different perspective.

no one to vouch for you can mean youve never done this before (in which case, just honestly explain Why)
you do this whenever your commanding officer orders you to
(in which case, no thank you, i really dont look good in jumpsuits, orange or otherwise)
or you have a collection of rings, necklaces and pinkie toes in a box in the basement
(in which case, also, no thank you)

if the reason you dont have a lady reference or 2 sounds plausible and you've come across as an otherwise appealing fellow, the lady you are trying to see will then give you some other options on how to convince her you are safe.

if you want to see the cream of the crop, just do as she asks. the odds are if she's been doing this long enough and has a nice body of work here, She isnt LE and will do the right thing with your personal info when she is done, which is get rid of it.

and then, you have an Alist provider as a reference, excellent for when you travel or get the itch to see another provider, who also would rather speak with another lady about you than have all your personal information and spend the time cross checking all of it.
