I know of a couple ladies that have taken beginner providers under their wing, and have made certain that her initial experiences were with proven gentlemen. That seems to be a good starting point; I'm assuming that she's also teaching her student the finer points of screening, so that when she's ready to fly solo, she can land softly.

It might be a great match with you both working out your possible anxieties and sharing the initial misteps that may be made in your respective initial forays into this business/hobby.
It could also go very wrong, with neither of you having the experience and skills to overcome the anxieteies of the other, with neither knowing the "protocol" of the situation, allowing mistakes to go un-noticed or uncorrected.
then there is the "danger" aspects of two newbies...he not knowing enough to find a provider to his liking that will give him the session he desires, and har not knowing how to screen a client, how to insure the date has a good flow and neither knowing how to minimise their own and the other's risks.
So, it could work very well...or it could turn out badly...that depends entirely on the folks involved and what they bring to the situation. That said, generally, if asked I would probably recommend that each find a more seasoned hand to guide them through the initial steps of each's involvement in this business...seasoned and trusted...
I think it could be a positive experience for both. Everyone has to start somewhere. I truly enjoyed following the progress of Siobhan on this board as she started providing soon after I started hobbying. It's a great learning experience.
Keep in mind that an experienced hobbyist may even take advantage of your newbie status or give you bad advice for his own gain.
It's really up to you. What would you feel comfortable with? I always appreciate knowing upfront whether a lady is new or not and I freely admitted it when I started out.
So I recommend you keep an open mind and your wits about you and go for it. Remember that you don't have to do anything you don't want to do no matter how doggedly he asks for it. Please let us know how it goes.

acidom gave some good advice about being friends with a local provider so she can help you with good clients. Just be careful that she's honest and isn't out to screw a competitor(you).
You'd be smart to check his references (his character as well as to prove he's not LE). A nice patient gentleman who booked a 2 hour date is probably best for your first.
