Eros.com has a decent enough hit or miss record. It depends on your area. Many of the postings on Eros are not completely accurate, old photos, etc. Even the occasional rip-off, never heard of a LE sting tho.....
Best to check with TER or other realiable sources where you can find a review of the SP.
Couple of hints. Have the donation in a plain envelope (or even a hotel envelope that comes with the room). Have a candid conversation with the SP, and avoid negotiating, etc. If they bring up costs and up-selling you may want to cut and run.
In most states LE cannot disrobe, even if you say something as innocent as "shall we be comfortable?" Apply simple logic. Look at the SP's hands. A writers callus on either the index or middle finger rells you that they push a pencil a lot. Not perfect but worth a look. Check their shoes. LE does not generally wear expensive stuff.
Better still, get a referral from anothe hobbist.....
I am a newbie here. I have not tried an escort in the past, am terrified about getting busted by sting or LE. I have a very successful career and would be catastrophic if I lose it for a quick fix. I started to check out the Eros.com website for those gorgeous women who I can potentially spend time with during those trips around the country, staying in hotel rooms watching porns by my lonesome self. Called one of ladies posted at Eros.com one time severeal months ago, but failed to show up because i was too afraid it might be a LE sting operation. It was alomost too simple; just one phone call and I was told to show up at a certain in-call location to meet the girl, no checking at all. I was VERY SUSPICIOUS to me, or was I being too paranoid?
So I would like to ask those of you who tried the services listed in Eros.com. Are those women reliable escorts? I notice most of the escorts listed in Eros.com, unlike in TER, have no ratings from clients.
Is there any way to avoid being caught by a sting operation? Need some tips. Thanks
I'm with you. I've been looking at this site and Eros for months and got the balls to call a girl. I tried several times. When she finally answered, I nutted up like a wuss and hung up. I'm in the same boat. Successful career and I'm married. I just need something for those damn lonely nights on the road. Can someone with some experience with this make the two of us a little more comfortable with this whole thing. I'd much rather just pay a pro to take care of my needs than to have to try picking up a girl at a bar and looking like a old married fool. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be to go to the local board for your city and do some lurking. See who the quality indies are and take it from there. Some of the ladies on EROS are legit, some are not. There is enough resoucres out there so you should have a good time.
I feel EXACTLY as you do about the fear of exposure. However, I was new to the whole thing until last summer where I used eros.com. Yes it's the best way I know of to get a look and choose from a large variety of lovelys who come from all parts of the USA, most on a regular basis to any giver location. Use TER to screen before selecting. I got burned with a very unsatisfactory provider. Now I must wait for months before I have enough in my kitty for another encounter.
I guess the obvious question would be, if you're that worried about being busted, why are you doing it?
If you are a VIP, you can use the "Escort Reviews" function to rate providers, from a city of your choice, by performance. You can see how many reviews the lady has as well as check the number and quality of other reviews by her reviewer. This method will make it more likely that you will not be disappointed and also more likely that you will not walk into a LE sting operation. It also will save you some time because, unfortunately, some ads are deceiving.
But if you want to "take one for the team" then go with the ads and do a review afterwards. I posted a thread on this on the General board a few days ago. Sometimes it is ok to check ads then try to find reviews, you may find new talent this way (as one poster pointed out in responding to my post). Given your level of concerns and what you can loose, you are probaly better off staying with the "escort Review" site method.
Before I learned about TER, I used Eros. There were a few rip-offs there, although I did have a lot of good finds, too.
It's like with anything: Buyer beware. But with TER, you can verify the legitimacy of a provider before trying one out. That's a great tool to have!
That was my question too though - how do I know the "reviews" on TER aren't posted by LE as part of a sting? I'm pretty paranoid, and also haven't done this yet!
Now, I'm naturally paranoid, but not THAT paranoid.
I suppose that theoretically it can happen. For one thing, I wouldn't be surprised if LE hangs out here. It's a good source of data for their job. And when it's politically expedient, they can go at it.
But risk taking is a matter of considering the probabilities and I think that the probability of something like that are pretty low. You can never wipe out the risk to be 100% certain on safety, but you can take action based on your level of risk aversion.
but as a rule of thumb I just ignore it in LA .... too many scams.
