If a person starts a thread, then removes the original post, does the complete thread including all responses on that thread disappear from the board?

If the original post is deleted, the entire thread is deleted.
If a reply is deleted with other secondary replies under it, then that entire "branch" is deleted.

Otherwise you will have orphaned posts, and they wouldn't make any sense...
