How risky is giving DATY?

It usually got answers about checking here or checking here, no real meat/grit/grime I'm looking for.  Here is my next approach........

Have you contracted an STD while DATY with a provider?  Yes or no, and how

I'm really not sure what it is but sometimes after DATY I get this painful sore throat a few days later. Eventually thrush forms in the back of my throat like STREP THROAT.  Its dog awful painful and takes about 10 days to go away. I have had it happen twice in my life and always after some strange DATY. The second time I took antibiotics and it went away in three days. I dont know what it is but it has to be STD related. It never happens when I go down on my loyal partner.

Can you contract an STD from DATY? Yes, & it goes both ways. If the provider has gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, HPV or trich, you can catch them in your mouth/throat. Same goes for the other way around. If the hobbyist is carrying any of these STDs in his throat, he can pass them onto to provider.

I know two civvie gals who have contracted this way, one trich & the other gonorrhea... both claim they got it from their girlfriend from DATY.

and knock on wood, I haven't gotten any STDs with any of them.

Well, it could just be thrush, which is a form of a yeast infection, but just in the mouth. Most common in babies who are being breastfed(in their mouths) and the mothers who are doing the breastfeeding(on their nipples). You could very well catch it in your throat if the lady has thrush down there. Although the "strep throat" feeling sounds more like gonarrhea, chlamydia or trich, which can all cause "cold like symptoms, including a sore throat"... thrush is little white patches that form in your mouth or throat, and if scraped, will bleed.

I think the answer is yes, but it was so long ago that I can't recall the circumstances.  It is rare.

On the other hand, I've met several providers who don't like DATY, so I don't bother with them.

I enjoy it but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Have you ever decided not to DATY with a provider for any reason?   I ask because DATY is my favorite part of the whole experience, but I wonder if there are some aspects I should be cautious of rather than jumping in every time.  I am really just starting out and so appreciate whatever advice you may have.

No DATY:

-The provider has bad hygiene anywhere on her body or has bad breath.
-The provider looks unkept, but is otherwise clean.
-The provider shows signs of careless housekeeping in her incall or in her presentation.
-She does not look appetizing down below.

Use commonsense. While that won't keep you from all hazards, it will reduce your risk. Would you eat a fruit, vegetable or meat that didn't seem right to you? Providers are human beings, but the same dynamic applies. Don't put your mouth on something that makes you feel queasy.
