This is about an Eros indie provider who has great TER reviews going back several years.  No backpage links.  Provider is based on opposite coast from me and ostensibly was visiting my town.

Provider's visiting Eros ad had an awesome video in which she spoke to the camera in perfect native english.  Appointment made by email.  As instructed, one hour before the meet I call her. After about eight rings someone who can barely communicate in slurred broken english answers the phone & asks me which ad I'm calling about, so I name the provider.  She mumbles something about go somewhere and call again.  I say "You're the phone girl, right? You're not [XXX] but when I get there I will meet [XXX], right?"  She insists, "I am [XXX]" and I reply that [XXX] speaks perfect english.  She insists that she is [XXX].  So I say "Then I am not coming to the appointment" and she hangs up asap.

Do you think that I handled this correctly?  I suppose it's possible that the phone girl just could not make herself clear to me but fully intended that [XXX] would really be there.  But do I want to travel to a hotel and find out at the door

Even if it wasn't a bait and switch, the slurred speech could have other implications meaning you probably would not have a great session.

Who has substance abuse iaaue or just a rough night regardless, she shouldn't be answering the phone like that. Your instinct was probably correct as you don't want to take chances and have a sour experience.

If the person in the ad had a video where they speak clear english and then you call and encounter somethig different might be her booker.But,if so she should disclose she has a booker or an asst answering calls/emails.
The person on the phone said she is the girl in the ad and sounds totally different better to pass if you are not sure it is the same person.Have you tried to pm some of the other guys who reviewed her?Maybe they can let you know if it is the same person or their experience

I think you did.  The information you had did not match.  You even gave the opportunity for the phone person to confirm whom you were to meet.  The fact she didn't know, indicates a large agency or a scam.  Clear across the country is not necessarily a red flag but frequently she'll have reviews in areas she tours...  did she have previous reviews in your area?  If you had enough time, you might have sent her a PM through TER...  are you touring near city X?

Yes, thanks, she had reviews all across her regular tour area.  I am in my home town, and she had a visitor's ad in Eros for my home town.  Does sound like an agency, but none of the reviews mentioned that, made it sound like she answers her own phone.  Well, maybe she is now franchising her business good will.  Or maybe the phone girl just has such bad english skills that she coudn't set the record straight.  At any rate, I appreciate that a bunch of replies confirmed that I should not have just blindly shown up for the date.  As W.S. Gilbert famously said, "there's lots of good fish in the sea".

Sometimes Gals will use an agency when touring...  that they would not in their home area.   More often not.  
I'm just suspicious that it was a fake ad claiming to be someone they were not.  I doubt Eros is concerned with ensuing ads are for the person they say they are.  I'd like to know definitively.

Was the phone in the ad the same as her home area phone?  Email?
